Whisper Suppressed Weapons
By Nick Stauber

Adapted from pre-rifts design custom manufactured for SWAT and Special Forces Teams, Whisper Weapons solve the major problems with suppressed weapons; range, accuracy and terminal ballistics. Conventional silenced and suppressed weapons require the use of subsonic pistol ammunition or downloaded rifle ammo for true silenced shooting, with a corresponding lack of velocity and kinetic energy. Whisper cartridges combine heavyweight ultra-low drag bullets with a high efficiency cartridge case that offers the most velocity with the least propellant. These bullets leave at the subsonic velocity of 1050fps and deliver tremendous energy with pinpoint accuracy and minimal recoil. the high weight low drag makes for an extremely flat trajectory with little loss of velocity. A high efficiency suppressor allows for silent shooting with no muzzle signature, perfect for night shooting. Using a modified M-16 gas operated action, the 338 Whisper can rip off 900 silent rounds per minute. the loudest noise this weapon makes is the thud of your opponents corpse hitting the ground.

500 Whisper

A larger version of the Whisper series chambered in 500 Whisper (.50 caliber), offering more range and incredible power for silenced weapons. Offered in two variants; sniper and assault. the assault variant is a large, select fire assault rifle that can fire single shots and short to medium bursts. Like its smaller cousin it is fully suppressed and has no muzzle signature, completely invisible at night.

Whisper Sniper Rifle

The Sniper rifle is an accurized semi-auto with free floating match grade barrel, electric trigger, computerized multioptic sight and laser targeting. Advanced computer targeting allows the firer to "ping" (electrically designate) a target, depress the trigger and when the gun is in perfect firing position, fire. Traditional fire mode with all bonuses is also possible. Computer targeting automatically ranges and adjusts sights to allow silent first shot hits up to 750 meters. [While the weapon itself is sturdy and reliable, the advanced targeting system is delicate, a 30% chance of breaking when dropped, struck, or handled roughly.

Wellington PDS
Originally developed by the US army in the late twentieth century to detect incoming small arms fire, working prototypes were uncovered and developed by Wellington. By sensing the ripple caused by a projectile passing through the air, the projectile detection system (PDS) can show its operator the course of multiple projectiles through the air and calculate their point of origin and impact. This system can detect most forms of physical projectiles both slow moving (rocks, grenades, etc) and fast (bullets, rail gun slugs, missiles, etc). It has difficulty detecting energy weapons (30% and reads as a large smear) and cannot track non-physical magic attacks. Another limitation is its limited field of view 180 degrees and is often deployed in pairs. the weapon's distinguishing feature is its ability to act as a fire control for specialized weapon systems, usually a Gatling type rail gun or a mini-missile launcher.

As soon as the PDS detects a projectile it tracks the point of origin and fires the weapons in a suppressive pattern. the system can track 100 projectiles and will fire at the target(s) determined to be the highest threat. Can be configured to shoot down missiles (up to three.)
