Zora's River

Along Zora's River there are four Pieces of Heart, four Gold Skulltula and three Gossip Stones. Time moves normally along the river, though there is no change between day and night.
The first time you will have to travel along Zora's River is as Young Link, but you will only get as far as where Kaepora Gaebora is perched before you will find the route blocked by rocks. Using Bombs, you will be able to remove the obstructions and continue along the path until you come to a fence you cannot climb over, near which is a soft soil patch and the Magic Bean Merchant. Watch out for the Octoroks as you go. If you try to swim upstream, the current will force you back to Hyrule Field if you don't climb up to dry land. To proceed you can either jump where the river makes its turn in the area's corner, or grab the chook and then jump over the river; you'll float accross the river long enough to reach the far side and proceed.
The same fence blocks Adult Link's path, but he won't have any chooks to help him reach the other side. You'll have to use either the Magic Plant in front of the gate or the warp from The Lost Woods to pass the gate.
You'll have to jump over the main current once again before you come to the open area, which is dominated by Blue Tektites. As you continue along the land you'll come to a log. If Young Link walks out onto the log, Navi will tell you about the frogs which are looking up at you. Hold out your ocarina and you'll be able to partake in the Frog Chorus to get Rupees and other good prizes.
Past the Frog Chorus is a series of cliffs you must climb, then a long bridge with an Octorok (it will also start snowing here in the future). Keep going up the path and you'll come to a pool of water about six meters deep, at the bottom of which is the warp to The Lost Woods. You'll also see there a large waterfall called the Sleepless Waterfall; play Zelda's Lullaby on the plaque where Navi turns green and you'll be able to slow the waterfall and enter Zora's Domain.
If Adult Link has the Iron Boots, he can go diving for Rupees at the point where the Sleepless Waterfall hits the ground. Young Link can also get Rupees by swimming along the middle of the river.

Zora's Domain
The underwater cave system that makes up the home of the Zoras has one Piece of Heart, one Gold Skulltula and one Gossip Stone. Time stands still in the caves, and it does not change based on the time of day.
When you first enter the caverns, you'll come to the large pool of water. Along the path is a turn-off which leads to the pool and the Zora Shop. If you continue up the path, you'll come to King Zora's throne room. Take the left turn here to reach the summit of the waterfall, or the right turn for the path leading to Zora's Fountain.

Young Link
You will be able to talk to any of the Zoras here, but the very first time you talk to them they'll always ask what you're doing there. However, keep talking to the Zora and they'll tell you about they diving ability, Princess Ruto, King Zora....most things that are of interest to curious travellers. After you rescue Princess Ruto, they will all say the same line.
At the bottom of the pool in the caves, you will see a deliberate structure down there. If you have the Silver Scale, you will be able to dive down and see what it is....a warp to Lake Hylia.
Behind King Zora is the entrance to Zora's Fountain, but you'll need to secure King Zora's permission to travel there before he'll move out of the way. You then take the right passage through King Zora's throne room to reach Zora's Fountain. Turn left in King Zora's throne room to reach the summit of the waterfall and the Diving Game. You'll be able to win great amounts of cash and other prizes for the 20 Rupee entry fee.

Adult Link
When Adult Link enters the home of the Zoras, he will find it deserted and completely frozen over. The only Zoras there are the proprieter of the Zora Shop and King Zora, but they are encased in Red Ice. Blue Fire will melt the Ice, and you'll be able to access both people as usual. If you plan on diving down the frozen waterfall, be prepared for a bad injury. You will be able to access Zora's Fountain as usual, but you won't be able to reach the warp to Lake Hylia.

Zora's Fountain
Adult Link swimming At the source of all of Hyrule's water there are two Pieces of Heart, three Gold Skulltula and two Gossip Stones. Time stands still here, and the only difference between the day and night versions is a lot of visibility. Basically, Zora's Fountain is a large pool of water, too deep for any human to dive. There are some branches you can climb on, and a fair bit of land.

GREAT FAIRY FOUNTAIN
Enter the fountain and proceed to the south-east corner. The island here is backed against the perimeter, but there is a weak wall there. Destroy it and play Zelda's Lullaby on the Triforce symbol, and the Great Fairy of Magic will give you Farore's Wind.

Young Link
There are no hostiles here, the only major feature being Lord Jabu-Jabu. If you play it right, you will be able to find your way inside his belly. You'll be able to swim around Jabu-Jabu and climb onto his fins if you're really bored. In essence, this is not an area that Young Link can travel far.

Adult Link
You'll be able to explore the Fountain better once you become Adult Link. Watch out for the Blue Tektites and the Octoroks, though. Don the Iron Boots to gain Rupees at the deepest depths of the fountain, or play leapfrog along the ice floes there to gain access to the Ice Cavern. There is also a hidden passage on the island on the south-east corner. You can use the Scarecrow's Song to reach the top of some islands, but what good this brings I have no idea.
