Thieves' Hideout

Requirements: Bow and Arrows, Hookshot, Deku Nuts, Epona or the Longshot

Hints:

Walkthrough
The Thieves' Hideout has no true Keeper, nor does it have a Map or Compass. Its entrances do not appear on the Map, but if you quit the game inside the Hideout you will start from the entrance. This is basically a mini-level, like the Bottom of the Well and the Ice Cavern. However, the Hideout has many doors making it rather confusing as to which way you should go next.

BEFOREHAND
You don't need to have much gear before attempting this level, just a way of crossing the broken bridge at Gerudo Valley. This can be done by either jumping it with Epona or grappling the Gerudo coat-of-arms on the far side with the Longshot. After crossing the gorge, you can easily find your way to the Gerudo Fortress. Stroll the grounds and look for one of the Gerudos; they'll capture you and toss you into into a cell set high above the grounds. However, they won't strip you of all your gear....

HIDE AND SEEK
Take out the Hookshot and look above to the nearby window. Grapple the wood here and you'll find yourself standing on the window's ledge, overlooking the Gerudo Fortress. Jump down to the ground (not on top of the Fortress) and enter the nearby doorway on the left. Beware of a Gerudo near here, it's an idea to wait until she's out of the way before you jump. When you enter the Fortress, you'll soon come to Ichiro the carpenter who's locked in a cell.
A Gerudo will then appear, armed with two scimitars. You must defeat her in order to get the key to Ichiro's cell, but if you get hit by her spin attack you'll be knocked out and end up back at the prison cell! The easiest way to defeat her is to back away, periodically firing Arrows. When she pauses to wind up a spin attack, toss a Deku Nut to stun her and then use a Jump Attack. Patience and timing are the key to defeating this Gerudo. Once she gives up, grab the Key she leaves behind and then enter Ichiro's cell and talk to him.
Exit this area through the second door (not the way you came in) to emerge at an area where it's kinda boxed-in. Head straight for the door at the top of the screen. Going down the left passage here leads to a dead end, but in going down the right passage you must avoid a Gerudo. Duck behind a crate and look down at the end of the passage to see the patrolling guard; when she's out of sight, move down the passage until you come to a right turn. Go down the passage, and here you must move really quick to move Link; hook down-right on the Control Stick and work your way to the right without jumping off the ledge to reach a door, getting in quick before the Gerudo spots you.

Here, you'll come to the cell of Jiro the carpenter. Battle the Gerudo using the same tactics you used to free Ichiro, then proceed. When you next emerge from the Hideout you'll immediately see two doors, one of them being where Link has emerged. Go into the other door, and you'll come to a dining room. Two Gerudos guard here, but you don't have to hit them with Arrows to proceed; use the Hookshot to grapple a roof rafter, the third from the far side. You'll land on a platform and can now use the Hookshot again to grapple the last rafter, then proceed to reach the exit. If you have the Longshot, you can simply grapple the last rafter and be done with it.
Hold left on the Control Stick and jump down to reach the next door. You'll now see a crate; don't go any further than this!! Instead, take out the Bow and get ready to fire. As soon as the Gerudo patrol arrives, take her out with an Arrow. Proceed down this passage to free Sabooru the carpenter the same way you used to free his two friends, then go out the way you came. Now, press Z to centre the camera on Link, then go foward and jump down one level. Go in through the right-hand door and proceed down the passage to the final carpenter, Shiro.
Once Shiro is freed, a Gerudo in green clothing will approach you. As it turns out, she's been watching you free the carpenters and decides you to be a worthy addition to their band. She'll give you the Gerudo Membership Card certifying you as an ally of their race and explain that Nabooru, their leader, lives in the Spirit Temple on the far side of the desert.
