An attractive young half-Elven woman who grew up in the woods, Dunia recently accepted a position replacing the vanished Eveshka as Larissa's servant. Dunia speaks with a strong Elven accent, though she can control it with effort, since her mother taught her to speak like a human. Larissa has been trying to teach her
Born to Agafaya Heinemann Human wife to Telic Heinemann a Elven ruffian of ill repute as a bandit and thief. Dunia was raised in the deep forest and has an older brother Nadir and sister Aksinia. As a young child Dunia learned the ways of the wild back country and dark mysterious forest land from her father including hunting for food and fur trapping. Her father had a lasting impression and she still feels more comfortable in the wilderness. The Family isolated from almost any contact from the outside world developed with a keen spirit towards cooperation. Sure Brother Sister fights were always simmering in the background but they never over took the deep love they all felt for each other. Dunia being the youngest almost without saying was spoiled from the get go. With two older children constantly blaming ever occurrence of misconduct on their littlest sister. At the age of four Dunia showed every sign of having "the talent" like her mother. Strange supernatural events happened at a increasing rate around everything that Dunia did. One event stands out, when she demanded a toy, a simple doll that her mother Agafaya had made for her, simply stood up in the middle of the floor and walked over to Dunia with no obvious signs of propulsion. Flashing lights and objects being moved for no reason were common place around Dunia until her mother helped her to dampen her external manipulations. All three children were taught to read and write in Elven by their mother. Dunia’s one meeting with her maternal grandparents proved almost a comedy of errors as the elders being full blown Elves really did not care that much for Agafaya and said so with no pulled punches. Dunia’s almost insanely jealous attitude towards her mother at the time included an image she cherished unable to do no wrong and above all reproach. She let her Elven heritage know it in no simple terms and of course was badly chastised and emotionally distraught by the backlash from the insensitive Elven grandparents. The "Bastard" mentality started to grow in the mind of young Dunia and has proven a difficult cross to bear even to this day. It should be noted that Agafaya really had no faith in the church or in supreme beings even though he had witnessed many so called interventions that lacked any simple explanations. It was their Elven father Telic who provided the spiritual guidance with his devotion to Aerdrie Faenya the Elven Goddess of Air and Weather. Most of that guidance came in the way of stories concerning the Goddess and actions taken in her name over the centuries. Despite her enclosed environment away from society Dunia longed for contact with people of different opinions and attitudes. She felt stale and lonely within the confines of the forest and her small family. To relieve some of this boredom she took to reading with even more abandon almost to the point of being driven and could always be found with a book or tome of some kind in her hands. Unfortunately, when contact was made with men outside her forest world it proved a terrifying and traumatic experience. Both Dunia and Anna were raped by Russkan soldiers when they were waylaid on a small foray into a temporary camp to pick up seasonal supplies in exchange for furs. Neither sister has divulged the hideous treatment and they keep it a secret from all but themselves. The circumstances involving Dunia’s eventual employment to Larissa came about when Erik and Nadir were conscripted for the army. Torn by the loss of her father even if only temporarily drove Dunia to consider getting closer to where he may have been sent. Through a vague encounter Dunia finally landed the opportunity when a gracious Larissa accepted her as a personal servant and hand maiden. Driven by a father’s love, Dunia has left her mother a woman she most longingly admires and worships. Can Dunia be forgiven for being withdrawn in a world dictated by human men? Will she break out of her mold and except the world for what it is embracing the victories and overcoming its faults. Or will she let this oppressive society drive her to the brink of madness that looms not far in the recesses of her battered memories. Time will tell.
