The streets in front of Zariya's residence are crowded with a jostling, raging throng. Effigies of Caine and Zariya hang from ropes, and occasionally ignited by the protestors. Burning seagull flage are even more common. The corpses of actual birds are occasionally hurled against the gate. The protestors wave banners and shout:
The Neuvo Sangrean, Roritanian, Rolandae/Garnath, Brandenberg flags fly everywhere.
People carry 30 foot high signs of pictures of Brand, Jason, Rory, and Kirk together.
Another set of signs have Davis and Rowan together as friendly cats sleeping.
They are soon destroyed by lightning bolts cast from the castle. Reliable witnesses indicate that a feline paw was seen emerging from the window.
"GO HOME CAINITE BITCH!"
"DEATH TO CAINITE SCUM!"
"NO MERCY FOR THE KIN OF THE BRANDSLAYER!"
A similar crowd of redheads surrounds the governmental buildings in New London and Jason's residence at Wolf's Eye. The sense of rage in the crowd is palpable. The protestors here bear signs as well:
"NOT A PENNY FOR THE CAINITE WENCH!"
"GIVE US A TABBY!"
"EAT ROWAN'S HAIRBALLS, DAVIS!"
Davis has all protestors with anti-Davis signs hauled in for questioning, torture, etc.
The news that the red carpet has been rolled out for Zariya has not only inflamed the volatile Ultrabrandites but the more moderate Church of Brand worshippers as well. Cartoons and grafitti depict a fair likeness of Davis grovelling before a seagull, and Jason being led around on a leash by Zariya.
The Rolandae/Garnath Embassies do not endorse the protests but close their windows and put up shutters when Zariya arrives.
