Though I am not naturally honest, I am so sometimes by chance.
            --William Shakespeare

Ok, scheduled appointment will take place at some point where they both have time free in Viallevale, at Zariya's manor. The manorhouse there is obviously undergoing renovations, and seems to be becoming a stone/brick/wood amalgamation of house. The majority of it is still rather worn down, as the renovations look very new and very in the beginning.

A young man, perhaps twelve or so in age, will offer to take your horse, "May I take your horse, Lady?"

"Thank you yound Sir." Scherazade says while handing him the reigns.

If Scherazade sees fit to give over the care of her horse to the lad, he'll trot it off to the very new, and fairly big stables nearby. The main building of the stable, if Scherazade is curious, is made of brick.

A young Arabic woman will meet Scherazade at the door. She is dressed in fairly nice and almost expensive clothes, in a cross between Amber and Arabic styles. "Greetings, Princess. My lady is this way; if you would follow me please?" She will lead Scherazade inside.

"Please, Miss of Lady will do. I shall not accept the title of Princess untill thoes that connect me to the realm will speak of the connection." Scherazade comments.

The woman blinks as if that is the most odd thing that Scherazade could say, but she drops a quick curtsey, "If that pleases you, Lady."

The inside foyer isn't much better than the outside. It's run down, but very clean. Floorboards creak. There are old tapestries on the walls, most likely covering the worst of the water damage as somewhere you hear the dripping of water. The woman will lead Scherazade into a room on the left, which looks to be a dining hall. It has a long, and expensive looking, table in the center of it, with two plates set. There is a fireplace on the far side, and candles everywhere to give light. The fireplace is lit somewhat; there are just coals banking there now. Zariya is already seated at the head of the table. She is dressed casually, in a loose-fitting tunic and breeches, green and brown in color respectively. Her scimitar is at her side, as always.

Zariya stands, sparing a quick smile before turning to Scherazade's guide, "Sabah, you may bring in the dishes now, and then you may do whatever you will with the rest of the evening." Sabah, the guide, curtseys, and does just that...bringing in several dishes of food while greetings are taking place.

Zariya turns to Scherazade fully now and inclines her head, smiling slightly, "I am well pleased that you could make it here. Please, be welcome at my table." She indicates the seat on her right hand side.

"Thank your your ladyship for inviting me to come here," Scherazade says as sh takes the appointed seat.

Zariya reseats herself, shaking her head slightly, "Call me Zariya. This is an informal dinner."

"As you wish Zariya," Scherazade replies. "between the two of us we probabley drive the King crazy with pronouncation guides."

"Shahinshah has never had trouble pronoucing my name," Zariya comments idly at the table is being set by Sabah. "And I wonder if his trouble pronouncing yours is really any trouble at all."

Scherazade smiles weakly, she had ment it as a small joke to break the ice. She really didn't want reminded that she really did not have a set place in this society and still no idea why she was called to Amber at all in the first place.

Zariya continues, as if not seeing the smile at all, "His Majesty is quite fond of testing people from what I have seen thus far. He is not the only one. Many of his children, and children's children have this fondness as well."

"To every thing there is a rhyme and reason." Scherazade replies.

            "In Amber, yes," Zariya replies.

Once the table is set, then Zariya dismisses Sabah for the night, and the two ladies are alone for the evening. "Please, enjoy your meal." The meal is somewhat different. Instead of one type of fare being offered, it seems to be a more multi-cultural deal with some traditional Amber (re: European/American) dishes along with some more exotic dishes (re: Arabic/Middle Eastern).

Zariya begins to eat, filling her glass with wine, and offering to fill Scherazade's as well.

Scherazade nods, seaming for a moment to have lost her voice, while partaking of the meal.

OOC: Assume they eat in relative quietness then?

OOC: That would sound about right.

As the two ladies are enjoying an after dinner drink, a very fine vintage looking to be at least moderately expensive, Zariya will ask, "So, if it would please you, would you tell me about yourself?"

"Well there really is not much to tell. I was summoned here and told to take care of Dianadale. Which I'm trying to do with the best of my ablity. Though I must confess busness isn't exactally my strong suit." Scherazade replies in a natural tone.

"What sort of society were you raised in?" Zariya asks.

            "Technological, sorcerous." Scherazade replied.

"Might I ask what society you were raised in? I must say I do enjoy the culture." Scherazade asks nicely.

"I was raised in what many would call a 'middle eastern' society. At first, I was trained as a courtesan. Later, I took heads for the lord I served there," Zariya replies. "Coming to Amber was very enlightening. There are many opportunities here for those who seek them."

"I try as I may, it seams my strong suits are all ready filled up here. I'm still doing everything letter perfect so I don't see my head choped off anytime soon." Scherazade replies.

Zariya shakes her head, "You would have to do something drastic for that to happen. My advice to you is to keep your eyes and ears open. Opportunities are made."

She pauses momentarily, then moves on to the main topic of conversation, "Now, let us discuss matters of trade. You have granite. I have iron. How much iron do you think you will be requiring?"

Scherazade's eyes look over Zariya for a moment. "Was there something that came to your attention that said I was in need of iron ?"

Zariya shakes her head, "Nothing in particular. I need some granite for building, and I would assume that you need iron for the same."

"That is depenends upon the type of construction. Where as I could use a modest amount nothing much for the buildings usage though. From where I come from the people in the past had created buildings both with a combination of metal and stone and then with just stone alone. Thoes made with both are only visable in the archives of the past where the others still stand. I really don't see the use for metal supports, but I do have some use for it. To help create the parts for the cement works, though I don't think it is as much as you had estimated I needed." Scherazade replies.

Zariya gives a small sigh, "Then how much do you need?"

"To start with five hundred pounds." Scherazade replied. "But the need for it would not be just a one time need, though past the first need, there would be smaller amounts needed, but still reasonable. So if you would want to come to some aggreament based upon that."

"And what are you willing to offer in return?" Zariya asks.

"You asked me here to discuss your need of Stone, if I'm not mistaken." Scherazade replied.

In reply, Zariya brings out a paper and hands it to Scherazade. The list details what size blocks and how many her architects need. It is a relatively 'medium' sized order, enough for a small building.

"IF you condiser everything discussed to be equal, then I'm in aggrement. Though I must warn you that the roads so far are not in the best of condition." Scherazade replied.

(EOT? I can't think of anything else that needs to be said anyway, and I've thought about it for a few days.)

(If Z. aggrees then yes eot)

            Yes, she agrees.
