In a tersely worded statement, HIH Paolo diBenedetti of Patternlands thanked Bances for his expressions of support for him and his concern for Amber, but rejected his urgings to depose King Oberon and Zariya.

"Zariya's recent deportation of Amber bureaucrats to Avernus is, as I have instructed her, an unfortunate misunderstanding on her part regarding their loyalty to Amber and committment to the continued smooth operation of Amber's civil bureaucracy. I have instructed them to return to Amber City where they will take up their duties in service of Amber immediately.

"The Lord Mayor, a new appointee, has unfortunately fallen into the trap which lays in wait for so many of those newly-exposed to the lures of power. In time, she will come to appreciate the importance of establishing relationships with neighboring soverign states and constituencies. I only pray that her hasty actions to date have not permanently poisoned her ability to do so."
