This was, from what I gather, an experiment by Craig to see how combat via email would fare. That's what it sounds so strange when reading it.]
Jessa and Zariya are on their way back from the dining hall from dinner and they spot Rory arriving in the castle freshly from his antics in the hot steaming jungles of Ardor.... (Paul your call if Dover is with)
(Feel free to describe each other)
(Jessa is wearing a simple dark green long dress.)
If it's after a normal type dinner, and not a fancy one, Zariya would be wearing her normal attire, loose flowing shirt, breeches, boots, and have her scimitar with her.
Rory is deeply tanned, and the relentless sun of the southern latitudes has lightened his hair from its normal cinnamon-dark reddish hue. He looks rather displeased to be in Amber, and is truly freshly arrived. He still wears baggy dark khaki cargo pants tucked into canvas and leather boots, and a shirt of the same color with many pockets and roled-up sleeves. A heavy, short blade hands one one hip and a canteen on the other. A cheetah slinks behind him, scanning the hallway
As they are about to pass one another there is a smell of bad sulphur and an explosion ripping on the other side of the wall. You think it is the servant's lavatory!
Jessa would head for the the servant's lavatory at a run. Zariya will follow Jessa, at a slower pace, with a glance to Rory as if asking silently, "Coming or not?"
Rory shakes his head at Jessa's headlong rush and draws his cutlass.
"Security must be getting sloppy," he remarks, and heads in the direction of the blast. Dover the cheetah follows.
There are some confused and dazed servants staggering from the area. Some bump into you, not sure where they are heading...
"Stand aside! Get out into the hall, damn your eyes!" Rory shouts, threading his way through the servants. Those that get in his way are helped along to out outside hallway with a firm hand on the shoulder and a push in the appripriate direction.
Those that don't bump into Rory and aren't headed the right direction away are turned the right direction by Zariya.
Easily done... Some are just grateful to get out alive... Others are muttering ''....Demon.... Demonn...... Big demon....."
As soon as she hears 'demon', Zariya draws her scimitar, ready for a fight.
Jessa, who had hurried ahead, moves between the servants, trying to avoid them.
This is easily done :) Rory tramping around in his big booties may be a bigger road hazard :)
The sulphurous stench of freshly heated and vapourized brimstone predominates....
"The smell of the netherworld. The stench of the unclean," Dover growls. "To wonder at its source. To wonder where Xanthus is right now."
Jessa moves towards the room, her hands moving causing a breeze, dispelling the smell.
This is easily done..... Though the source itself is not dealt with...
There is a sound of a ROAR.....
And a Fire Angel comes staggering out...
And he/she/it is pissed.
Three servant's headless corpses are lying off to the side...
Zariya will not charge the demon. She will hold back, staying in it's center line of sight, and be ready to react rather than charge.
The Demon is ignoring Zariya for the moment and is annoyed that your group is blocking him from his duties....
You see Sabine coming down the hall too.
Jessa carefully moves closer to a wall, out of the direct line of fire on anything coming from someone following her. Her mouth is slowly falling open.
The Demon is focusing its attention on everyone tactically deciding who is the greatest threat and begins to growl and snarl in its own tongue and advance towards Rory slowly.....
Rory snarls a mouthful of twisted syllables that sound like a catfight. Dover responds in kind and circles to the demon's flank.
"Jessa," Rory says, keeping his eyes on the demon, "Draw a blade, cast a spell or get some help. Now. Zariya, you better be as good with that cleaver as you say, or we're screwed."
He backs up, keeping out of range of those long, claw-tipped arms. A dagger slips into his free hand.
"Zariya, Dover can distract him, I'll toss a blade, and let's see what kind of damage we can do. On three?"
The Fire Angel rages and makes the obligatory growls and snarls that are presumably in its own language a challenge.... In a gutteral voice it says,"Two Girls and a Redhead, this is easier than Lord Petegeuse said." and then goes back to roaring and advancing.
Sabine walks in, fresh from the infirmary and a walk past Pepper....
Jessa swallows, her fingers starting to move. Suddenly sparks fly from her fingers directed at the Fire Angels eyes.
ZAP - there is a flash of light in front of the demon's eyes
"#$%$^&!" She exclaims as she extracts two thin daggers from both of her boots. Her eyes lock on to the fire demon and she moves to Dover's side in an odd, flowing motion that would look (if anyone was watching her) as if she were in water.
"What's the plan?!?" Sabine shouts, eyes never leaving the intruder.
"To Die." The fire angel's harsh gutteral accented voice says,"Then I will eat your bodies."
"Evendeyr k'verren," Rory hisses, and the words seem to burn in the air. He gestures with the dagger and finishes, "Y'lesseyn."
Nothing happens.
Sabine watches the demon, trying to judge what damage the combined spells have done.....
The Fireangel Stops. And its eyes seem to be blinking. There is no offensive action at this moment....
The demon luckily cannot see Rory and so it cannot take out its revenge as it seems to know what Rory tried to do!
If an opportunity to attack the demon arises after the distraction or damage of the spells, Zariya will take the opportunity, dart in to damage the beast and then back out again out of it's range (hopefully).
Zariya takes a swipe and managed to hack at its arm a bit, luckily as she was on the retreat, it no longer could see where she went due to Jessa's magic.
At this point, Pepper wanders down the room after leaving the infirmary...
Sabine has an odd gleam in her eye - she advances quickly, moving fluidly to stay out of range of the demon's obvious weapons. She is attempting to do some damage to the joint where the creature's claws connect to it's carapace. She is smiling.....
There is a lot of damage to the demon's exterior skin as her dagger seem to do some damage but the creature has a lot of tough hide. There is a lot of clear ooze from the impact area.
The demon roars still unable to see and is now swearing in terrible imprecations.
It swings out, lashing towards Sabine with a clawed arm that would have possibly eviscerated her forturnately it misses her.
This ain't exactly Local Demon Lutterkin :)
Sabine flows back out of the demon's range, "Tough bastard!"
When it lashes out at Sabine, on the other side of it, Zariya will dart in again, attack quickly and dart back out.
Rory curses, and moves back out of the demon's way.
"Yithindeyr everren," he growls, gesturing at the demon.
The primary part of the spell seems to not work but the secondary impact portion of the spell causes the demon to start, then recoil as if struck by a large object - the inertia alone seems to have hurt it.
Sabine risks a glance around the room, judging their odds. "Anyone?" she calls and moves so that the demon cannot home on her voice.....
At which point Breyd launches a pair of daggers towards its eyes. She seems to have arrived fashionably late.
It misses the eyes of the fire angel but instead stick in its cheeks on both sides of its principle face.
Breyd has another pair of daggers in her hands and takes her turn to suicidally rush in, she slashes at anything that looks vulnerable and dances back away.
Sabine calls out, "Nice of you to show up!" and grins at the newcomer. She looks to the others to get a feel of what to do next, while she attempts to move along the wall to get behind the demon.
Jessa stays crouched by the wall. Her fingers are still moving as more sparks fly from them, aimed at the fire angel's eyes.
The demon seems to be more blinded by the action.
"Well, feck. Anybody figure out what this thing's achillies heel is yet?" Breyd barks, tearing her skirt so it's easier to move her legs. She balls her fists and looks like she'd be happy to try punching it.
The fire angel is roaring and steam is coming out of its eyes ears and mouth!
It seems pissed.
While still concentrating on the sparks, Jessa replies. "Either we figure it out fast, or someone goes and gets someone who knows. I doubt this will work forever."
Sabine hazards a look towards Jessa, "Any ideas who we can contact?" As she awaits Jessa's reply, she moves quietly towards the exit - fingering her tarot deck.
Since Zariya's scimitar is not stuck (OOC: I conferred with Craig on this; it doesn't stick in the fire angel), at another opportune moment when the beast is looking elsewhere, in someone else's direction, Zariya will go in for another attack, and back out again.
This time an organ seems to be struck... Which one though? Hard to guess?
Other than the obvious distraction about it's eyes, does there seem to be any other sort of vulnerable or hurt spot?
Rory changes position again, and mutters another spell.
"Most of them are busy trying to put Uncle Gerard back together again," Breyd says dropping back. They should have an advantage. There are more of the 'cousins' and they are on home ground...But everybody seems green and untried against this sort of encounter. Direct force? It seems too strong...and she can't spot any obvious weaknesses in the time since she arrived, so she offers her hand to Rory. "Use my strength as well to boost," she says tersely. Time to work as a team...
Sabine slides further out of range and separates Laszlo's trump from her deck, she stares at it with determination.
Laszlo answers. He's in his office browsing through dispatches. "Hey-ho." He says affably. "What's cooking?"
Sabine jerks her head towards the battle in the next room, "A little fun, wanna come?" She grins like it's a holiday.
He tosses the paperwork aside, and offers his hand. "Okay, I'm curious," he says.
Sabine takes his hand and pulls him through. "Here's the short of it," she says as she readies herself to go back into battle, "A fire demon of unknown origin is just around that corner and so far all mundane weapons have stuck in it's hide, except for a few. Several spells have hit it, but with little effect save blinding it. Ready?" She smiles at him - gleeful to get back to the blood-letting.
"Okay, so you expect me to do what exactly, that hasn't already been attempted?" Laszlo enquires. "Perhaps some John Donne is in order. His work always makes *me* feel sick."
He manoevres to get a better sight of the creature and its assailants
The demon sees him arrive and there is a fireball from an eye that is visible in between its wings on its back.
Laszlo luckily is a competent magician and could dodge this one and (if he wants) pushes Sabine out of his way. However his clothes and hair will get slightly scorched!
Sabine moves around him to return to the action, "I think anything would help at this point," she looks over her shoulder as she goes back in, "Try something - anything, if that doesn't work get someone else here quick." With that Sabine goes back to the fray, her dark eyes flashing.
Breyd is still extending her hand to Rory, the dark eyes blazing with fury as she watches the demon. Her coppery hair has managed to escape all the hairpins it started off with this morning and spills around her shoulders in a riot. It's pretty safe to say she's raging...and that she's more than willing to unleash it at the creature brushing aside most of the attacks.
Rory drops his dagger, takes Breyd's hand, and utters the same string of flowing syllables. After that, he drops her hand.
[Re: Breyd’s psyche assist] That helps. You unlike Rory feel the demon's mind and how foreign it is to you. The difference is disgusting as it kills for its jollies and likes taking people apart and not putting them together the correct way.
Around the corner turns a familiar looking blond man, tall and out of place. He is wearing a red suit with a blue shirt and white tie. He is 6'5" and fairly slim for an Amberite.
With him is a tall woman of nearly six feet with five cats behind her meowing and chatting with her in some feline dialogue.
Cedric, not seeing the fire angel waves a cheery hello to Jessa,"Someone who knows what?" he asks absently.
His wife Olivia, half sister and rival to Jasra, natters back to him,"Certainly not Oberon, he knows hardly a thing. I mean this place has no litter boxes for my kittens."
Olivia has ten gaudy thick rings of diamonds, rubies, emeralds and sapphires on each finger. There is a couple large diamonds on her ear lobes with three ruby necklaces on her neck with a giant emerald, sapphire and diamond hanging from each. She is dressed in a white long sun dress and a big floppy hat with a band of pearls on the rim.
The felines each have garnet collars with gold and there are two servants behind them just to serve the cats.
Olivia looks over to the group of you,"Can someone inform me, please, when Court will be held. Oberon owes me some money and I want to make sure he makes his payment or I will complain to Daddy. No excuses this time.
This time it is disrupted by the demon shredding Rory's arm. Pepper notes that the demon no longer stinks of sulphur (brimstone) but instead like rotten chicken.
"Last shot," he growls. "Noe it gets interesting-er."
"I don't believe that's a word." Laszlo says, mostly to himself. He flips out a trump and begins concentrating on it.
"Rory just invented it," Cedric jokes lightly,"In Ardor it is now a word by law if you don't want to get garotted." he chuckles
The demon roars and seems to have been hurt this time...
A clawed paw reaches out and hits Rory across the arm, shredding his shoulder and removing any cloth and skin over many square inches of it. Luckily Rory was far enough away or the fire angel would be having Rory's arm as a trophy!
When the demon goes for Rory, Zariya goes in again and attacks. One quick, though hard, attack and she backs out again, hopefully out of reach.
The demon now looks rather harried and is no longer in perfect form takes a deep slash and reels back!
A snakelike tail reaches out and grabs Zariya by her sword arm and is dragging her over to hIm!!!
Zariya doesn't pause for a second; she lets go of her sword and lets out a string of nonsense, [Ra'Shari! Sever this beast's tail. Quickly now!]* The sword hangs there for a second, and a hollow sounding male voice issues from the sword, [Oh, now you need me. It's about time! I was bored stiff!]* After it's utterance, it starts hacking and sawing away at the demon's tail as Zariya struggles to free her arm from it's grip.
The demon's tail rips away from Zariya though its harsh edges rake her skin with a ropeburn from hell as it whips to avoid that sword!
With more than a bit of irritation, she speaks again, [I don't keep you around to make silly puns, you horse's ass. Get to work!]* The scimitar issues one last statement before putting it's all into it, [Work, work, work. That's all I ever do.]*
The tail flashes away and dances to avoid the sword!
Sabine attacks while the demon is focused on Zariya, she attempts to stab the hidden eye on it's back, then move out again quickly. She can be heard humming a tune.....
Success. You poke the back eye! The tail swishes to try and get her but it seems to miss and whaps against a pillar
The fireangel howls in great discomfort and ceases to be on the offensive.;..
The demon stepped on Olivia's train and she backhands it,"Stupid peon." she barks at it,"I am going have you pay for drycleaning this, you oaf."
The fireangle is now pulling back from her and all of you. Escape seems most on its mind.
Cedric's voice is heard," Is that one of Father's (Oberon) pets?"
Olivia asks,"I am not surprised. Oberon likes those horrid creatures. Daddy says that Fire Angels cost too much money and they do not know their place."
She motions to the servants to move the cats back. "Fire angels tend to dismember creatures and I do not want my kittens to see that happen."
She murmurs to the Fire Angel in some weirdly accented speech, "Wastszeop Argrtajh Pizanddersam, Wotzart Porg. Suhuyways im Jhotempt Seth Ammonra Bamawqath."
The Fire Angel stops looking at her like Olivia is lunch and goes and looks at shredding another piece off Rory.
"What did you say?" Cedric asks Olivia. "I hate it when you speak Wog to those sorts."
"I hate it when you speak your pointed ear elf talk to your uncle Xanthus and he destroys several halls of the 45th palace." Olivia shoots back.
"Point." Cedric says," So what did you say?"
"Well Cedric, you should really learn to speak Masterspeak dialect of the Demontongues. All those lower order wretches know it."
"But what did you say?" Cedric says exasperated at his wife.
"Oh very well," she sighs," I told him if he was thinking thinking of stealing my diamonds or bothering my kittens then I would tell Daddy on him and he would be working the Spice mines of Kessel plucking gems from radioactive goo for the next ten thousand years in slow time."
Rory is bleeding and should get help of some sort :)
After the clawing Olivia says to Rory," You are bleeding." she says concerned.
Then she adds,"Careful to not bleed on my dress. It is a Christian Dior from Earth Prime." she sniffs. "I am a much better dresser than that red headed floozy Jasra."
And Breyd is on her knees looking grim, if a little green. "Irk. Remind me never to try that again." She's ripping up her useless skirt and trying to apply pressure on veins. "Stop squirming, Rory. Sheesh, anybody'd think you hadn't had an arm off before..."
Olivia looks at that with disgust,"At least it was not an expensive dress. I would rather say something nice to my father in law (Oberon) the cathater before I would ever rip any of my dresses." she sniffs.
"I'll remember to drop him a thank-you note next time I need to tie up torn flesh," Breyd remarks with heavy irony, rather unconcerned about the state of her attire or the fact that Rory is bleeding on her.
"It is only Rory." Olivia sniffs,"He is just a pirate, a redhead, and a nobody. He is still not even listed in the Alamanach Di Swayville and neither are you. Cedric at least is half Royal Noldor while his mother is just a nobody."
"and he's neuvo riche." she sniffs contemptuously. "as are you."
"I think you'll find most nobility started out as horse thieves if you go back far enough," Breyd says icily. "I suppose you know who my father was then. Everybody knows more about me than I do. I'm torn between feeling like Little Orphan Annie and a mutt at a pedigree show."
"My Father was a Prince of Royal Atlantis before he stole anything, including horse ranches,"Oberon says hotly," What's wrong with horse theiving as long as they don't steal from you?"
"Absolutely nothing until you get caught. Only royalty manages to make it illegal for everybody else to steal save them," Breyd says, looking over her shoulder at the king. "Which I happen to think is highly practical of them. It's the generations of brats later that haven't got the cunning, simply the arrogance that bother me."
"So what." Olivia says dismissively,"We rule. We have ruled. We will rule. Simple as that."
Breyd bites her tongue so hard, she tastes blood. Now is not the time, she chants mentally in her head over and over.
"Y'v'enerra shaross," Rory intones tiredly, unsing one of his healing spells on the damaged arm.
His arm will slowly heal and expell small amounts of demon claw....
Zariya, now freed, backs up to a place of relative safety, <
Then, she waits as she was doing before, looking for an opportunity to attack
the beast.
Meanwhile, Laszlo has pocketed his trumps, and pulled a comb through his
hair to remove any stray scorched locks. (One of those ivory handled
flick-knife combs).
He steps up to Olivia and bows.
"Pardon me, your Majesty," he says. "I'm sorry to intrude, but I wonder if
you could assist us in removing this demon from our midst, before he
further damages the Castle or the people in it."
Olivia walks up to it,"Bad demon. Go away!"
The fireangel looks upset but skirts around her and continues to try to
get to the rest of you.
"Stop that. You need a bath."
She swats at it to no impact as it ignores her,"Bad demon. I am going to
report you to the Demonclub."
She pauses,"Then again your kind are too low class to be allowed into
the Demonclub."
Laszlo watches this exchange with interest, hoping the demon will take the
hint.
Zariya will start approaching it carefully, still mindful to be out of reach,
(or to move easily out of reach) but pressing it all the same. Hopefully, if
anyone else is pressing the demon, she will approach from a different angle
than anyone else.
Sabine joins in Zariya's effort, still humming and looking like she is having a swell time. She is moving in and out of the demon's range to minimize any attacks...
"Nice trick," Breyd says approvingly [about Rory’s spell] and smiles at Rory briefly before shooting a look at Sabine and Zariya pressing the demon back. Then the dark gaze shoots up at Laszlo. She still looks somewhat drawn, her face pinched, but it goes still and she looks down to gather up demon claw bits with a scrap of her dress.
"I try," he replies dully, watching bits of claw ping
off the floor."
The Demon howls and swats at anyone coming close to him.
Breyd doesn't bother getting close. Instead there's an arcane gesture involving two fingers. "Oh, fuck off already. Nobody's interested," she says after the demon, picking up one of the sharper fragments and flinging it after him with uncanny aim for his eye.
The demon glares at her, still retreating trying to get to the window
[Zariya] remains out of reach...
The demon sees her and hisses at her and growls as it retreats.
"Get a bath you filthy thing," Olivia tells the fire angel,"Now I know
why Daddy bans you from his banks and you have to use magical ATMs.
Stinky!"
This is done... [Sabine] is in a position to cut off the escape route!
Sabine siezes the moment and trys to cut off the demon from it's intended course. She is singing loudly now - a song better suited for a taproom.....
This only induces the demon to panic further and runs the guantlet
between Sabine and Zariya now desperate for flight. Psy-ops can work
brutally well!
Since it is all out fleeing, Zariya will all-out attack, trying to hamper the
demon's flight or kill it outright if an opportunity presents itself
Taking her cues from Zariya, Sabine commits to the attack as well - her ultimate goal seems to be the demon's death by as much blood loss as possible. She concentrates her swift jabs to the 3rd eye on its back and other unprotected areas....
The blow hits and the demon shreiks and turns to lash out at Sabine...
the injury upsets it greatly and it goes for her.
She is now on the defensive which leaves it undefended, relatively
speaking from others.
Several thrusts and slashes with the scimitar like weapon will slice
pieces of bleeding fireangel up now...
The focus on Sabine has made injury from Zariya more of a reality though
she has to dodge a slashing tail.
Zariya moves in for the kill, going as Sabine did for unprotected parts. She is
not bothering to defend; all out attack.
This time she is lucky and wounds the creature in its side.... However
the injured creature flails out and scratches her badly on the side with
long claws. The wound is open and needs stitches.
The sword is stuck in its liver though
Sabine does not risk a glance at the other women as she defends herself, but asks in an even voice, "Are we having fun yet?" She then resumes singing a bawdy song while trying to avoid the demon's attacks. She seems to be dancing with it. If she sees an opening for a mortal wound she will go for it....
Zariya lets go of her scimitar, and backs up, holding her side.
Sabine drives in her sword and it slips in the wound and cuts into other
organs cauising the demon to howl more and a foot hits Sabine in the
stomach and shoves her off into a far off walll... WHAM! She is stunned
and has a broken non sword arm
And it's at that moment, when it's precisely so distracted that Breyd stands up, darts in and grabs the sword driven into the liver. Her face twists into a snarling mask of frozen fury. (anybody with an incredible presence of mind in battle or watching her *very* closely may realise her lips have moved as she touches the steel.) She twists Zariya's sword and yanks upwards, looking for something vital...
SPLOOSH... One of the three hearts the creature has just got sliced...There's blood all around coming out of every cut and pour.
Breyd gets a passing claw, that had it been full strength would have vivisected her. Breyd dances back, leaving the blade and grabbing her midsection with both hands. She staggers back, baptised with ichor, and sort of stops when her back hits the wall. She slides down into a sitting position, a bewildered expression on her face as she holds her insides in. "Shit."
Laszlo repeats the oath and moves to help, mindful of the thrashing demon.
Trying to move her gently but firmly away, he attempts to repeat Rory's
incantation to prevent Breyd spilling more entrails. He waves a stiletto
knife in the demon's direction, more hoping to discourage it than look for
an attack.
Wounded animals are not good at discouragement :)
It roars at him and tries to hit his stilleto hand in his direction with
its tail but at the last minute the spikey tail rakes across Lazslo's
face and torso... Damage includes lacerated nose, face, Adams apple
brusied and scratched. And the left breast torn open to the breast bone.
Lots of blood. Icky
Rory lays a bloody hand on Breyd's shoulder. He
murmurs the same incantation as before.
That helps but she needs more attention too
"Let me know if she needs to get out of here in a
hurry," Rory says to Laszlo, "Because I'm running
out
of tricks."
He turns then and gestures at Zariya.
"Neyerret evennion, k'vereth essendir!" he shouts,
throwing the spells across the intervening space.
"You're patched up and covered with the best
defensive
warding I can muster! Make good use while it
lasts!"
She gets partial healing too from Rory the Resident
Cleric. (His bill
will be in the mail)
(He considers the wounds done to the demon as payment
for services rendered.)
Breyd looks remarkably lucid considering (ain't adrenaline kewl?). "Oh, bollox..." She looks less than thrilled about something that has occurred to her and then her face pinches with pain. Yes, all the healing helped, but she still needs medical assistance, She's just able to move herself now if she has to and she tries to fight up to her feet while keeping a hold on her belly.
Rory the Medic's spell seems to have helped and Breyd is able to
continue standing and plan her next move
Zariya doesn't spare a glance for Rory, but concentrates on the monster. She
calls out, [Ra'Shari! Free yourself and return to me, or do as much damage as
you can!]* Without waiting to see if the scimitar can indeed free itself, she
starts circling the beast slowly, looking for an opportunity to... well, attack
it with her bare hands, if necessary, through an open wound of course. Or find
a suitable weapon.
If she can/does get close enough to an already open rip in the demon's hide
near it's vulnerable points (eg, the point in the back where Sabine stabbed out
it's third eye would be ideal), she'll not hesistate to attack it, ripping out
as much flesh/entrails/icky parts as she can with her hands without getting
clobbered. Yes, she's attacking, but she's not going to get hit again (if she
can help it) since their resources are dwindling.
The Scimitar comes back from the painful side of the fireangel... The
results are messy. There are lots of holes in the creature now. She is
not able to immediate grab it but the armour nearby has a spear....
Zariya reaches for the scimitar, but upon missing it, she doesn't hesistate at
all, and takes the spear.
If she can find a suitable weapon nearby (if absolutely necessary, Lazlo's
stiletto is gonna get swiped), she'll attack cautiously *having* to search for
an open wound to do more damage (like a normal weapon will cut through the
beast's hide...don't think so).
The Spear goes in deeply and there is a terrible blue icy fire inside
the area where the wound happened!!!
Sabine cradles her useless arm against her side and snears at the demon as her head stops spinning. She grips her weapon in her good hand and returns to the fray as fast as she is able. She does move to shield her injured cousins on the floor with her body as she joins Zariya in finishing off the monster.
It takes more than Sabine's latest salvo to finish it off but she does
wound it sharply on one of its claw arms making that limb unusable. In
exchange she got bitten by the creature on the arm.....
[Zariya] lets go of the spear, leaving it where it is in the beast's hide. She gets
back, out of the way of the fire, lest it burn her. Zariya moves back, calling
out to her scimitar again, to come back to her.
Zariya successfully dodges as the creature is losing strength and is
looking weaker and weaker.
Finding that his legs are intact, Laszlo stoically moves himself and Breyd
out of reach.
"Well, shit," Rory says. He waves at Breyd and
Laszlo.
"Bye-bye," he says, casting a teleport spell to send
them to the infirmary. He also moves away from the
monster.
She shakes it off and grins at the demon, "I've been bitten harder by my mount!" If she can still grip her weapon, she will continue to attack - using both sword-play and the kantirs of her personal fighting style. Once she sees Rory's spell save the two behind her, she feels free to move more to avoid further injury.
She gets the demon flailing its claws outward... this fatal error allows the sabre to smoothly edge past the bones and into its last heart....
The Fireangel tears Sabine's nose off and then topples to the ground in a gory terrible heap. There is a smell of sulpur.
Sabine leans against the stone wall and grins beneath a mask of blood. She cleans her weapons with care before putting them away and inspecting her wounds. "Guess I'm back to the Infirmary.." She says as she fingers her useless arm. She presses her sleve covered forearm to the pulpy wound on her face to staunch the blood running down and dripping from her chin. She turns and makes for the corridor that she so lately ran down.
"Damnit," Rory says tiredly. He points at Sabine.
"Bye-bye," he says, and teleports her to the infirmary
as well. He says one last "Bye-bye", and disappears himself
Since the fight seems to be over, and the fire angel defeated, Zariya will
clean her weapon first, sheathe it, then check over her wounds. If they're not
healing wholly (because of Rory's spell), then she'll bind them with whatever
clean parts of her tunic she has.
After she's situated, she'll wait for the guardsmen to come and clean up the
mess, to give a report on what happened.
