Don't let it end like this. Tell them I said something.
            --last words of Pancho Villa

[Sorry if this one seems weird or out of order...I think there were two threads here that I was trying to meld.]

Gram calls out,"Will Prince Laszlo approach the throne. His Most Royal and Imperial Majesty wishes to speak to you."

Laszlo moves swiftly to his place.

While Laszlo is hotfooting it over to the cushion in front of the throne, Oberon begins.

"We have had word that the Demon Lesh-Y who is part of the sinister Court of Ardor was eliminated. In fact, his head was brought to Us a la John the Baptist last night."

"It is Our Wish that the courageous prince who eliminated Lesh-Y in hostile Ardor single handed, shall meet with Our Favour and Praise."

"It is Our Desire, that Laszlo, Royal Earl of Wettin, Prince and Knight Companion of the Order of Ganelon, shall also receive the Knight Commander of the Order of St. Germain." Oberon says snapping his fingers to Balaam.

Laszlo puffs his chest up so much with pride it might almost burst. He bows very low to the king. "Your Majesty does me great honour," he says.

Balaam opens up a locked drawer with several different orders jumbled up. One can spot Orders of the Unicorn, of St. Germain and of Garnath. He reaches in and checks a reference booklet from the Order of Chivalry from the Amber College of Heralds.

He finds the right one, quickly places it on a silver plate and hurries over, almost stumbling again.

As he nears Laszlo, the Prince quickly can detect the stench of freshly drank whiskey.

Laszlo wrinkles his nose, but will not let it ruin his moment of glory. He lifts the medal deftly and places it around his neck before Balaam falls over. "Thank you," he says to Balaam, before helpfully turning him and giving him a shove back towards his seat.

Balaam flies forward and almost nosedives onto the rug. Fortunately for the rug, Xanthus cast a spell causing the pitiful Balaam to fly back up nearly contracting whiplash.

Then Amber's leige looks at Laszlo,"Let me guess. Head of Leth-Y?"

Laszlo straightens and grins. "Indeed it is. I considered adding an apple for effect but I wouldn't want to offend his relatives...too much."

"No danger of that." Oberon mutters,"They thought he was a bloody fool for being here anyways. You have a greater danger of offending pigs."

"I wouldn't want to do that. There is much to be said for swine." Laszlo says jovially. "How would Your Majesty like me to dispose of the remains? I can keep them in trust if you wish to wring some ransom from his kin." He offers.

Oberon ponders. Then he replies with extra gravity and sentences the dead head.

"Lesh-Y the Demon Filth. You are sent from the depths of Chaos to inflict pain and misery on the people of Order. You violated my ban on illegal demons in Amber. You appear in Demonform banned by My law and prohibited by My Will."

"You conspired with the criminals in Ardor in their petty cabal. You plotted to destroy natural landmarks important for all. You are a thrice damned criminal and a pig. I sentence you to be beheaded. Your properties and assets are forfeit to the Crown of Amber anywhere in Creation. Suhuy notwithstanding. Your head is property of the Crown of Amber and will be displayed at the Amber Admiralty at the docks on a long pike for the crows and ravens to peck at. Your quarters will be displayed at Amber Embassies in Koronande, Hathor, Dushera, and Koros for all to see. Notice of your sentence will be passed to the so-called petty Emperor of Tanturak through the Haven Embassy. May the Holy Unicorn of Amber have mercy upon your evil wretched sulphur stinking soul. I certainly won't." Oberon says.

Guards come to afix the head to the top of a pike and they ceremonially beating a death sentence on their drums march out of the Green Room.

"Laszlo, you are entitled to 10% of all the wealth and assets of Lesh-Y that you may confiscate on behalf of the Crown. Rory. You will audit Laszlo to ensure that he does not make any accidental numerical errata."

"Thank you, my liege," Laszlo says, bowing low. "I shall return to the Postmaster's Office and see that the quartered remains are despatched to the destinations you command at once."
