There are seven sins in the world: Wealth without work, Pleasure without conscience, Knowledge without character, Commerce without morality, Science without humanity, Worship without sacrifice and politics without principle.
            --Mahatma Gandhi

Trading ships from Amber, escorted by Prince Caine's fleet, pulled into port in Koronande this day. Citizens of Koronande will have a new choice of goods, including such wares as spices, incense, cloth-of-gold, silks, jewelry, and porcelain. Merchants, under employ of Princess Zariya, seemed eager to set up stalls in the market squares. "It is the dawning of a new day," one merchant commented later when asked about the occasion. "New trade means opportunity for all, and economic growth comes from competition."

They are warmly welcomed by the Si Maelstrom the Speaker of the Senate of Koronande who led Senators in cheering the new arrivals,"We are delighted to have increased trading options that just Lady Pearl and having to buy new products through incompetent Hathorean hands."

The head of the caravan stepped forward, with an offering in his hands. Bowing formally, the small Arabic man replied, "I am Aamil bin Lut bin Saffar Al-Fulani. Princess Zariya wished for me to convey to you her gracious thanks. She hopes that this will firm relations between Koronande and Amber, and gives to you this token of appreciation for so kindly receiving us into your land."

Aamil then gave unto Si Malestrom a beautifully wrought golden ship, about a foot in length and magnificent in detail.

Even though there was a celebratory mood in the port this day, the foreign merchants wasted no time in setting up their stalls. The folk of Koronande were reported as being 'delighted' at having a new choice of goods in their market. They are warmly welcomed by the Si Maelstrom the Speaker of the Senate of Koronande who led Senators in cheering the new arrivals,"We are delighted to have increased trading options that just Lady Pearl and having to buy new products through incompetent Hathorean hands."

Si Maelstrom is gracious and welcomes them,"Amber's Ambassador is busy conquering Hathor at the moment but I am sure he will be happy to see you. Perhaps Prince Laszlo will be on hand to greet you."

"Perhaps my cousin might offer us a poetry reading," she replies, stepping forward to stand side by side with Aamil. "It seems to be his only skill."

"Prince Laszlo I found to be a gracious host and of splendid generousity," Si says slyly looking at Zariya. "My you are rather dark for an Amberite. If we get you in the sun you could almost make you look half Kiriani."

Si smiles,"You are not from the area, are you?"

"No, I am not," she replies.

"Then I will delighted to provide Your Highness with a tour," Si states solemnly with a sly smirk.

"A tour will be delightful, once I have rested."

"One would be honoured if your most Royal Highness would consent to join me for dinner at my humble home?" jSi says softly.

"My Mountain Villa and Elephant plantation" Si smiles suggesting the tour sites.

She nods politely and moves on to other topics of conversation.

"I have been pressured by Rory to go to his alliance meeting." he tells her. "I am going to pretend the messenger never made it. In fact I am going to make sure he does not make it with captured Tanturak arrows."

"That is business best discussed somewhere else, I think," Zariya says, glancing around at the open courtyard they're standing in.

Si nods,"Il Duce of Roritania is a goofy Jenghis Khan but he has agents here. Rolandae will report it to him if not."

"Would you like to have a personal guided tour? I have an elephant or mumakai luxury train to my many villas in the cooler hillier areas. I would be delighted to show you my country. "A slight touch of the tongue to the top of his teeth precedes Si's smile.

"Perhaps later," she says smoothly, allowing her smile to remain. "My journey was long and tiresome."

"Pray warn me, if I should be come long and tiresome."

Zariya cocks an eyebrow, and replies demurely, "We shall see. Not many men can hold my.. attention for any amount of time."

"One can attempt to go where no man could accomplish," is the saucy reply

The brow stays arched, and she quotes, evidentally a proverb or somewhat,"He whose eye is greedy will never have a full stomach." She smiles, relaxing into a more natural posture, "Still, you are amusing and silver-tongued. If you should sing to me of a place where I may refresh myself, I would be most honored."

Si grins boyishly and points out where her suite will be,"Shall I prepare a dinner for us to sup?"

"And if you can provide a place for my retinue as well, I shall be most pleased," she adds.

Si Maelstrom bows to her,"I will be delighted, Most High."

She turns to Aamil, and rattles off a list of instructions in Arabic to him, basically saying go, find shelter, set up shop, etc etc. She then gives instructions to the captain of her guard here, and splits her guard in two, 25 to stay here, and the rest to go stay with the merchants, safeguard the caravan, etc etc. In other words, she starts to get things set up here. Then, she'll turn back to Si.

He smiles waiting for her to be ready. "My Household is at thy disposal, Highborn."
