A sleek black sports car pulls up and Aven gets out, waving goodbye to his rich Uncle Bances. Aurora and Tabitha, getting off the bus at the same time, aren't impressed, but little Myranda (one year behind) seems to be.
Last ones off the bus are the triplets, Art, Reinhard, and Tiberius, always dressed alike by their mommy. They sit in the back of the bus and play jet planes while threatening to beat up anyone who tries to sit back there. Their buddy Colmar sits one seat ahead of them. He likes to invite people to sit back there and then watch happily when the triplets beat them up for doing so.
Inside the school, there's a pop quiz in Mr. Lucas's Social Studies class. Ches gets a 105% cause he did all the extra credit work, so Mr. Lucas makes him tutor the new kids over in Special Ed. Myth gets an A too, but everyone thinks she was looking at Ches's answers. Jason puts a whoopie cushion on Mr. Lucas's chair and the whole room breaks up laughing when he sits on it.
Over in Mr. Johnson's Science class, Mordred is absent again and Wolfe is tardy. Matt decides to mix some chemicals together to see what will happen and makes half the room blow up. Mr. Johnson sends him to the principal's office. Aven spills iodine on Archie's lap but tells the teacher it was his evil twin that really did it. Archie makes a big speech about it, but no one's listening, so Mr. Johnson gives him a cookie and he shuts up.
Lunchtime! Blake is working over the underclassmen for their lunch money. Paolo does the same thing, but he's paying the new foreign exchange student Gucometz to do it for him. Basile loads up on tapioca pudding in the lunch line until Lunch Lady Jasra gives him a dirty look. Elena is handing out flyers to everyone asking them to protest something or other, but only the foreign exchange student bothers to take one. Carl does the trick where he passes a piece of spaghetti up one nostril and down the other, but no one's paying attention. Dorinda saves Archie a seat, but he decides to sit with Maegwin instead. Ches is busy tutoring the Special Ed. kids so Aisinn gets to be the Lunch Room Monitor today. Myth is passing around petitions cause she wants to be homecoming queen and everyone signs them cause she's real popular. She also passes out ones for Ches, so he can be homecoming king.
Time for recess. Ches and Jason are on the swings seeing who can finally swing over the bar on top. Corbin and Nicolo are playing tag and they keeping running over Richard, who's playing with Emma and Joanna in the sandbox. Matt takes Colmar's "Kelric Action Figure" and Colmar tries to get the triplets to beat him up.
The rest of the boys all decide to play kickball, but Archie's chatting up the Sawall-Delamere girls. Paolo and Blake get to be captains, cause they always get to be captains. Paolo gets to pick first since its his ball. Blake has a better ball, but he leaves it at home. Paolo picks Myth, but she's busy comparing petitions with Ches, so Blake gets first pick instead. He picks Reinhard and gets all the triplets, since when you get one, you get them all. Paolo gets mad and decides to take his ball and go home. He figures that when anyone wants to play kickball, they'll have to call him, but everyone finds something else to do, even Gucometz, who is helping Archie and Richard build castles out of sand.
Back inside and its time for Art class. Carl paints good pictures of everyone. The triplets paint a squadron of TIE fighters dropping nuclear bombs on baby harp seals and that makes Dorinda cry. Basile eats some paste and gets yelled at by the teacher, Mr. Anthony. Matt and Colmar start throwing paint at each other, but somehow its Richard that gets covered in it. Jason draws some cartoons but doesn't get in trouble cause the teacher thinks they're funny. Aurora and Tabitha are too cool for art class and don't want to get paint on all their nice clothes. They tell Mr. Anthony that its 'that time of the month' and he excuses them. They go smoke in the girls room, but they don't get caught. Maegwin uses up all the blue and green paint and asks for some more. Ches has a key to the storeroom so he gets some for her.
Over in Music class, Archie sings the loudest but Joanna sings the best. Myranda, Aisinn and Evaine sing three-part harmony but then start shoving each other cause each one wants the solo. Aven's daddy bought him an expensive keyboard but he can only play a couple of songs. He lets the girls play with it but not the boys. Gucometz and Elena want to play foreign folk songs but no one else wants to hear them.
Finally, the long school day is done. Emma, Joanna and Dorinda head to the library to get their homework done right away! Richard tags along with them and they don't seem to mind. The triplets, Colmar and Corbin all head to practice, cause Coach gets mad if they're late. Aven's daddy rolls up in a BMW so Aven asks the girls if they want a ride home. Only Myranda takes him up on it. Archie asks Maegwin if he can carry her books home for her and she says yes. Evaine has detention with Matt, again. Blake and Paolo hang out behind the school and shake down the kids from Arden Elementary across the street. Wolfe rides off on his keen black ten-speed and Carl follows on his banana-seat Schwinn. Ches and Myth stay after to help the teachers clean up their classrooms for extra credit.
