"Coups are in the air again. For those of you not familiar with coups, they're like large pigeons with diarrhea. Expect noisy unpleasantness for a while.

"I'm not sure what Mom's plans are right now, but Bances' recent 'slavery or freedom' advisory to us was probably meant as a hint. So let's look at the mess on our doorstep.

"Paolo is back in action with economic shenanigans in Amber. This is actually good news. Paolo may be an Oberon sentimentalist, but the pragmatist in him knows that Mom's got the right idea when it comes to modern infrastructure. Hint, Don P. -- check out Gerard's daughter Alexis. What I hear is she'd like to implement the same stuff.

"So far, the front lines of hostility are Zariya and Rory, neither of whom are that damn impressive. Caine and Fiona are still loose, but they were before.

"As ever, screw brinksmanship and other poker games. They want to play weenie wag, we inuldge them as the spoiled brats they are. Shooting starts, we fight now and rebuild civilization later."
