The Card: The 7 of Disks represents failure. It is labor abandoned, the promises of success unfulfilled. This card is the epitome of sloth. It means little gain from much labor and hopes deceived. Well-dignified, this card indicates delay, but growth. It can also mean honorable work taken for the love of work and not for material gain.
The Character: George may not be a failure..completely. He is, however, the undisputed lazy cousin of all the new cousins in Amber. He is addicted to mint juleps; he skipped out on doing Oberon's bidding; and failed to heed Oberon's orders through Balaam. Thus, he gets this position in the tarot deck. I think that Oberon wants more from him in the future, so the well-dignified portion of this card fits pretty nicely too in the 'delay but growth' part.
