In a controversial move, Senator Laszlo Menelrana has tabled an Emergency Powers motion in the Koronande Senate, arguing that current instability in Ardor demands decisive action. Though there is provision in the constitution for such a move, it is little used and treated with suspicion by many.

"Our beloved republic has never faced such a dire threat as that posed by the Empire of Tanturak and its so-called Magician. By asking for and receiving foreign aid from the likes of Haven and Trinity, the Magician has conjured a vice-like grip on the continent of Ardor, and we are in the front line. We cannot rely on outside help, so must look to our own resources by raising a standing army and appointing a Dictator for the duration of the crisis." Senator Laszlo said. "Our people cannot afford indecision and fractiousness at a time like this. The Senate must speak with literally one voice, and give itself the ability to act decisively when our borders are threatened."

Though the motion itself might scrape through, the debate over who will take the title of Dictator will run and run.

Si Maelstrom announced he will support the motion but call for an amendment allowing for the executive committee of three to replace the Dictatorship.

The Amber Embassy in Koronande issues the following statement it reply:

Amber vlaues the friendship that it is had with Koronande and wishes to reassure its government and people that Amber will not abandon it to the machinations of Tanturak and its allies. We applaud the inititive of Senator Laszlo in making this bold move in the face of clear and present danger and hopes the that the Senate will come to right decision after their due and proper consideration. Regardless of the outcome of the measure, Amber stands ready to support Koronande in this time of trouble.
