"Roritanian, Hathorean Fleets End Amber Port Calls"

Citing unsafe conditions in Amber City, the Lords of the Admiralty of both Hathor and Roritania have suspended liberty during port calls there. Amber City bars, eateries, and dancing halls are expected to experience serious losses. Spending by Hathorean and Roritanian marines and sailors on shore leave accounts for up to twenty percent of the revenue of some establishments.

"The Lord Mayor of Amber City has an unhealthy tendency to make hostages of whoever happens to be wandering through her city," said a source in the Hathorean government. "Probably the only way she can make the quarterly buget."

Both navies have also ceased provisioning their ships in Amber City or doing any but emergency refitting in the city shipyards.

Business has fled Amber City the wake of Lord Mayor Zariya's groundless mass arrests in Amber City a month ago. Foreign owned businesses have completely deserted the City. Moneylending institutions, including Grabbe and Robi, Friendly Cash, and Morgan Financing have ceased extending lines of credit, and are pressuring debtors to pay up. Insurity companies have followed suit. The city is in the midst of the worst capital crisis in years.

Shelves are also bare, as local shopkeepers are unable to find merchants willing to deal in Amber City. It is rumored that Prince Rory and the enormous GKTC conglomerate have refused to deal with anyone dealing in Amber City. Merchants affiliated with the conglomerate are reportedly toeing the line and are accepting fines for breach of contract rather than continue delivering to the city.
