Donny represents our foray into a totally new bloodline for the first time in quite some years. We hope this will freshen our gene pool while retaining the old fashioned "classic" look and sweet temperament we love so much. Donny is slow-maturing, a trait that sometimes tests our patience, but in the long run is so much better for the dog and the breed.

Donny is a sweet boy in an eye-catching light gold package. Here he is making his show debut at the 2004 Golden Retriever National on the "go-round" displaying the excellent balanced movement we demand in all our dogs.

And here is Donny on a recent "field trip" getting his feet wet, literally as well as figuratively!

Oct 2006 Donny update - well folks, when Donny turned 3 and a half there were elements to his movement that we simply didn't like, specifically, he was moving "wide" in the front where our standard calls for a tenedency to "converge" towards the center line of movement. This was serious enough for us to admit that Donny was probably never going to improve over what we were seeing and that he was in all reality never going to be able to finish an AKC championship. So rather than let him become kennel stale, he was recently sold to Banay Karp, a lovely lady who trains dogs and other animals for movie and television work. Fortunately for us, we had the opportunity to breed Donny ONCE before he left, to our OFA Excellent girl Abby. This is our FIRST OFA Excellent - to - OFA Excellent litter!
