Commodore E. Pickles

• Captain Pickles was born on Jukero IV in the Kujii System, and rose through the military ranks there until he was given the rank "Commodore" and placed in charge of the Kujii System Space Defense Force, a stronger than usual system-militia (but still featuring antiquated, older ships). Prior to joining the Alliance, he had extensive space combat and command-level planning experience defending the Kujii System from pirates, alien raids and the occasional attempted expansion by other regional governments.
• Do you remember the Air Cavalry Colonel in the film "Apocalypse Now" who seized an enemy-held beach just so he could surf the waves? You know, the fellow who said, "I love the smell of napalm in the morning." That illustrates Pickles to a "T." If there is a fight, he wants in.
• He has an exceptional grasp of space combat, including conventional and extremely innovative tactics. If you have ever tried to defend a system using only the obsolete junk purchased by planetary militias, you would understand the necessity of a firm grasp of the unexpected and improbable. He will not hesitate to push a ship or commander to the limit. He would rather blow up his ship and take his enemies with him than be captured.
• Less understanding individuals evaluating his performances may regard him as irrational. Indeed, the dossier Imperial Intelligence has recently started keeping on Pickles' annoying exploits includes the terms "berserk" and "limited mental stability" and advises extreme discretion and caution be employed when Pickles is in the vicinity. According to the Imperial Intelligence dossier, Commodore Pickles is insanely lucky (no surprise).
• He has faced impossible odds, often accomplished highly improbable missions, and survived without a scratch. The same cannot be said for those who have accompanied him.
• The Imperial opinion on Commodore Pickles is shared by his number two officer, Captain Shields (normal Alliance Navel Officer stats), who was originally tasked with training Pickles in modern vessels when the Kujii System joined the Rebel Alliance. After the rescue of a distressed Rebel convoy from an Imperial ambush, and their near-destruction of an Eclipse-class Super Star Destroyer using a mere Syphan-class Destroyer during what the Court Martial has classified as "The Incident at Ord Farlenx," the Alliance was so pleased with the joint performance of Pickles and Shields that they transferred Captain Shields to Commodore Pickles' permanent staff.
• Alliance High Command has the utmost confidence in Commodore Pickles, and specifically addressed and dismissed allegations of his mental instability during the Court Martial proceedings.
• They have recognized Pickle's prior rank of "Commodore," an occasional but seldom used position to designate the senior captain of a task force, and given him a slot in the Alliance Navy with the official Alliance rank of "Vice Admiral," a title which he does not particularly care about or use.
• Pickles' force (so far) consists of the Dauntless-class Cruiser Vilkommen, the Dauntless-class Cruiser Just Visiting, the eleventh Endurance-class Fleet Carrier constructed, and the Syphan-class Destroyer Regression. Commodore Pickles and Captain Shields are typically both on board the Vilkommen, with the Regression commanded by Captain Shield's former first officer, since promoted, Captain O' Rorek (typical Calamari Alliance Navel Officer Stats).

• His "flagship" the Dauntless-Class Cruiser Vilkommen (it carries 4 squadrons of starfighters).
• Another Dauntless-Class Cruiser called Just Visiting with 4 squadrons of starfighters.
• One Endurance-Class Fleet Carrier (11th made) with 2 wings of starfighters.
• His old Syphan-Class Destroyer, the Regression.
