Mandraghonne

Hidden in Shadows: Mandraghonne & Friend, by Domino
- When Marquis was first presented to Domino de
Devastator on Deominia, she had in her possession a datacard containing plans
for something called the "Superdroid." Domino studied this
document and turned it over to one of his most trusted scientists, a Sith Lord
named Dr Aldren Drucker.
- After researching the information in the
document and assisting Lord de Devastator in his project to create the race of
Sithspawn known as the Julayps, Drucker was assigned to be the chief of
medical applications for the element known as Virllium with the Galactastar
Corporation. While making advances in the realm of cybernetic
enhancement and prosthesis utilizing the element, he researched the
possibility of using it in the Superdroid model.
- The Superdroid plans, as it turned out, were
not plans for a droid at all, but a sort of Sith-generated being. Taking
a living creature and fusing base mechanical features into it, a type of
enhanced warrior with "living metal" parts could be created.
By the time Dr Drucker was named the Chief of Operations at Galactastar
Corporation's headquarter facility he had approval from Lord de Devastator to
proceed with the Superdroid project.
- The initial experiment was to be the test run
to assess feasibility for the project. Drucker needed to know that
subjects would live through the trials of the enhancements he would be making
to the bodies. The original Superdroid plans suggested Humans or Duros
for the process; Drucker selected specimen from several different
species: four Humans, four Duros, and a mix of Twi'leks, Sullustans,
Gotal, Elomin, and even one Defel (how Drucker acquired these subjects, be
assured, is a shady story in and of itself). Of the original 20 subjects
that would face the 200 day process, only three made it through the first 180
days, and only two were left as day 200 came to a close. They were known
as Subject 9 and Subject 16. The reward for surviving would be
annihilation.
- Subject 16 was presented with a gift around day
180 of the process; a chavera he immediately called "Friend."
He enjoyed Friend's presence because it calmed him after a battery of rigorous
experiments and tests. He soon found that though Dr Drucker and his
technicians were somewhat gentle with him in the process, his only real peace
was in his bed with Friend close at hand.
- The morning after day 200, Dr Drucker had the remaining two subjects taken
to an incineration chamber where he would perform one final test as he
destroyed his work of the past 6.5 months. The heat in the chamber rose
steadily but Subject 16 didn't seem to notice (even after Subject 9 collapsed
and began to smolder). Also present in the control booth of the
incineration chamber were three technicians, Drucker's personal assistant,
Grand Admiral Darin de Devastator, and Agent Smith. As the situation
began to look uglier with each passing second, Agent Smith left the control
room.
- Attempting to deal with Subject 16 in his own
special way, Agent Smith placed a device on the door of the incineration
chamber that would release a nerve agent capable of incapacitating the
creature. Subject 16 was, instead, able to knock the one-way window of
the control room out and escape, killing the technicians and injuring Dr
Drucker and his assistant. Darin de Devastator evaded danger without
injury.
- Agent Smith attempted to stop Subject 16, but
was surprised by Friend, who attacked Smith just as he was about to fire his
blaster at the stunned Subject 16. Subject 16 recovered enough to gather
Friend into his arms knock Smith senseless for a few moments, and escape to
the service ducts and maintenance corridors of the Galactastar
facility.
- Drawing on knowledge and experience that he was
completely unaware he had, Subject 16 commandeered a shuttle from the
facility's hangar and escaped to hyperspace.
- He traveled to Corellia and abandoned the
stolen shuttle. Biding his time, he established control over several
people for the express purpose of getting them to rob financial institutions
so he could amass enough wealth to buy his own vessel. He finally had
enough to do what he needed to do and made contact with a ship dealer and a
document forgery expert.
- Through them he was able to buy his ship, Darkness
Eternal, and leave Corellia. The freighter was well-stocked with
food and entertainment, and he found many datadisks full of literature from
around the galaxy. It was from this selection that he found a story
about a death cult who worshipped a god named Mandraghonne. He liked the
story so much that he adopted the name for himself.
- On his journey, he had planned to make a wide
path around the galaxy and then fly to Coruscant, but when he exited
hyperspace near Endor he felt a tugging from the Dark Side. He followed
the compulsion and ventured to Korriban, the Sith burial world. There he
met with the mad Jedi Ipan Adnul and the dead shade of a Sith Lord. He
vanquished them both and took a Sith Artifact from Ipan as a prize.

Mandraghonne's Belongings:
- "Friend" - See below
-
Mandraghonne now wears the talisman that Ipan Adnul wore around his neck
before his death.
-
He owns the lightsaber made by Ipan Adnul (damage is 50 plus his control
attribute), but he does not use it. It remains on his ship as a trophy.
-
He currently wears the Fist of Korriban, a Sith Artifact
that increases all Force attribute (and Sith discipline) ranks by 25 and
grants the General Sith discipline at a rank of 25 if the bearer did
not have it before. It also grants the bearer the ability to control the
geographic composition in the immediate vicinity (one kilometer radius).
The Fist of Korriban has a material strength rank of 575, and can be used to
parry melee attacks and blaster bolts.

Mandraghonne's Ship:
- Darkness Eternal - A Kazellis Light Freighter. It
requires a crew of 1, and can accommodate 3 passengers. Cargo capacity is 100
metric tons.
- It has a hyperdrive rating of 1, and can travel at 1150 km/h in atmosphere.
- It has one dorsal turret-mounted quad laser cannon (damage is 220), a front
mounted proton torpedo launcher (damage is 360), and a ventral turret-mounted
medium ion cannon (damage is 100). It has hull and shield strength ratings of
200 and 150, respectively.

Mandraghonne's Special Abilities:
- Armored Skin: Subject 16's skin has been infused with
Virillium molecules, giving it a peculiar luster and sheen as well as ablative
qualities. The extent of this protection is as yet unknown, nor is it
known if the body can regenerate this "skin" if it is damaged.

"Friend"
- A feline creature called a chavera. It is commonly believed that
chavera are sentient, but this is undetermined as of now.
- Chavera have limited Force qualities. Chavera have the unique
ability to "leech" from the Dark Side when it is present and
substitute a calming effect of Light Side peace to a being in contact with
it. Though given to fits of anger and rage, Subject 16 is usually
immediately calmed when "Friend" is present.
- They have sharp, short claws and sharp teeth.
- They average .15 - .25 meters in length and stand nearly .10 - .15 meters
