AUGUST 12, 1999: Welcome to the new CHB Guild News Page. I hope to add things to this as they transpire. If anyone has any news or other subject matter they wish me to post here -please- let me know and I will be happy to do so! Thank you!
AUGUST 21, 1999: A new CHB house has been opened by the Guild Shop. Inside is an oven, spinning wheel & loom, small anvil & forge, a training dummy, and a pickpocket dummy. Please feel free to use this building to practice your craft or spar. If I am around I will friend any guildmates to the house so it may be a safe haven. You will have access to the secured chest inside but please do not keep anything valuable in there.
AUGUST 24, 1999: Chief Warrior Karnbor wishes to hold an outing of some sort on Saturday, August 28 1999. Any who wish to attend, please meet at the CHB houses around 9pm cst. Exactly where we are going shall not be disclosed until the time of departure but it will be a venture into the newlands. Please be prompt and prepared with the following items: greater heals, bandages, greater cures, nightsights, if an archer at least 300 arrows/bolts, if a mage enough regeants for offensive and defensive spells, a few recall scrolls, rune to papua, food for yourself, & horse food if mounted. Protocal: Stay together as a group. Anyone who leaves the group to explore on their own -is- on their own. The group will not be jeapordized because of one person. All gold will be pulled together at the end of the venture and split accordingly, anything else you loot is yours..but the gold is for all to share. Listen to the leader/s of this expedition. If you have a suggestion feel free to disclose it but remember this is a guild outing..not a solo one. Back each other up where possible and keep an eye on all. Things may or may not go as planned as we will be learning how each other fights which can be an interesting thing at times. ~grin~ Have fun and get to know those you will be calling shieldmate! Hope to see you Saturday!
SEPTEMBER 1,1999: Runes of all the Old Land Towns have been placed inside the CHB training/craft house. Please feel free to use them and/or tell others so that all may benefit from them. Thank you.
SEPTEMBER 26, 1999: Recently I received this letter from the GuildLeader of the Farland Clan.

        Greetings My Friend,

It has been an honor and our privilege to have met you. In the past our guilds have enjoyed a peace that few guilds have achieved or maintained. I come to you with an offer of allegiance in arms. There is strength in numbers. We all know that evil has enveloped our lands. They plague our countryside. They lurk around every corner attempting to destroy the good people of Britannia without remorse. A group needs to rise up in defense of the realm against such oppression. Groups that represent the sacred virtues passed down to us by our forefathers. My kin and I are seeking such guilds that represent honor and integrity to form a lasting union that will seek to preserve the virtues. We are seeking to form an alliance with those that would be interested.

The purpose of the alliance is simple, we pledge ourselves in arms and in peace to further the ideals of the virtues. In times of distress we will be there for each other. In times of peace, we will share a glass of ale and enjoy the company of one another. If you are interested in joining with us in such an honorable union then please let me know. Once I hear from the guilds we are inviting, we will meet at Lord Brit's castle to discuss the terms of the alliance. If you decide not to join us, you will still always be considered a dear friend of FC and an ally in spirit. Please contact me and let me know your decision.

I would like to rest some concerns. For an alliance we will have to declare war on each other since no option exists on the stone. I want to stress no ally is to take advantage of this and kill those that flag orange. I have checked each listing of those being invited and most do not have any wars right now. Those that do are allies not enemies. So those that are in the alliance will know their allies by the orange color. Those that flag orange you will know that they are a trusted friend, a brother/sister in arms. I also want to stress the purpose of this alliance is not to seek out wars with other guilds. Rather it is to enjoy the benefits of not flagging criminal. The only PvP experience FC has is to fight off pks and thieves that have threatened our kin or our friends. We will continue to do this to protect not only those in the alliance, but all those threatened throughout the land. Consider your answer well and please respond as soon as you can.

Fair Winds, Angus Farland Clan Master of FC

Please tell me what you think of this alliance possibility. Leave all comments or opinions on the messageboard for all to review. Thank you very much.
OCTOBER 1, 1999: I am -very- pleased to announce that our alliance negotiations with the Order of the Crimson Wolves have been accepted and as of this date we are official allies. So if you should see any OCW who appear orange..they are -friends- and -allies-. Please act accordingly and if any problems arise contact me or their guildleader, Kelgar. I have placed their guildsite url in the allies page so if you are interested in learning more about this old and honorable guild, do so.
OCTOBER 2, 1999: On OCTOBER 17th, 1999 at approximately 9:00pm cst I will be wiping the CHB Guildstone clean. This means all members will lose their titles and will no longer be members of the guild. If you wish to rejoin the Celtic Highlanders of Britannia please be there at that time. If that is not possible then -please- contact me via icq, email or the messageboard so we may set up a time to readmit you. I will try my very best to be available that whole week to place members back upon the guildstone. If you decide -not- to rejoin the guild, then I wish you luck and happiness no matter where your path may lie.
OCTOBER 6, 1999: Chief Warrior Karnbor has set up a Guild Outing for October 9th at approximately 9pm cst. All who wish to go please be prepared and meet us at the guildstone. If you need a list of what to bring contact either myself or Karnbor, you could even leave a message on the board, we will try to reply asap. Hope to see you there!!
OCTOBER 13, 1999: Since none but one bothered to reply as to the possible alliance with the Farland Clan, I am inclined to go ahead with it. I will make my intentions known to Angus at their meeting which is to commence on Thursday the 14th of this month. If anyone wishes to attend this with me they are more then welcome to. So far Karnbor has mentioned in interest in going. If you would like to go please let me know as I have a rune to the Tower of Dreams and will leave from the guildstone house. Thank you.

        Greetings Good Masters,

The time is almost at hand. Our first meeting of the Great Lakes Alliance is in 2 days. It will be held this Thursday at 6pm central time. The location will be the Tower of Dreams, our chosen hq. To get here go to Cove and walk out the east gate. You will run right into the CMG vendor hall which is a smithy. Behind the counter you will find a rune to the tower. If you can not attend, no problem, but please try to send someone that can speak for you or at least hear what is said to report back to you.

I have heard many say they are very leary to declare war on another guild. I know many of you have members that can not fend for themselves and they are afraid of being town killed by an ally. Many are saying they would like to be in the alliance, but not do declarations. I for one do not have a problem with this. However, I think doing the declarations goes that extra step to show you are committed to seeing it succeed. FC has about 60% or more of it's members that are not combat effective. Still we are willing to go through with the declarations with any of you that are also willing. To me it shows you are willing to trust us and we trust you as well. I would not offer a declaration if I did not feel that each and everyone of you are worthy of our trust. I know each of your guilds to be honorable, seeking to preserve the virtues. However, I think the declarations have to be a personal thing between each master. I do each of the declarations one-on-one so we may talk and trade information. If any of you do decide to declare with another guild in the alliance I suggest you do the same. Trust is something we will have to earn and build upon. Incidents will arise, but I hope nothing we can not work through for a good end.

When we get together we can discuss all of this to great lengths. I look forward to seeing all of you soon.

        Fair Winds, Angus Farland
OCTOBER 14, 1999: The cleansing of the stone is still scheduled for OCTOBER 17th, 1999 at approximately 9:00pm cst. Many who are unable to attend this meeting have contacted me asking to remain on the stone and in the guild. I have given much warning of this action so hope noone is taken by surprise -if- they come in game one day and find they are no longer a part of CHB. Now that the ranks have been finished and the page up for viewing, those rules will take effect on OCTOBER 17th, 1999. Once it is determined who -is- in the guild after the cleansing, I will let everyone know what positions are available if any wish to petition for one. Thank you all for your patience in waiting for the ranks page to be finished. It was not as easy as you might think and I didn't always want to work on it.
OCTOBER 15, 1999: Furmanator and I went to the Great Lakes Alliance meeting held at the Tower of Dreams on Thursday. While the meeting was interrupted because of pk activity around another guildleaders house, it still was interesting and I'm glad I went. At the least I met some nice people and potential allies for the future. I took a picture of those assembled but many were still streaming in so this is but a small portion of those who were there. OCTOBER 16, 1999: I am very proud and excited to tell you all that CHB has a new Guildhouse! It is a large brick house a bit up north from the old one. Actually it is behind the patio house that is behind the shop. I am doing my best to have it set up for Sundays meeting so please have patience in case it isn't quite ready. This may not be a tower, a keep or a castle..but it is a great step for this guild that hasn't been around all that long and I hope it is just the beginning and good omen for the future. One other thing..I wish to make it known that this house was acquired for us by Furmanator and we have -his- generosity to thank for our new home. == Sundays Guildstone cleansing is still going to happen so I hope any who are not able to attend will contact me in some way. All those who do or who are in attendance will keep their current rank of regular member. Any who do not but then decide to rejoin later on will be brought into the guild as a new recruit. There has been plenty of warning about this so I hope none are surprised by it or angered. If so, many apologies but that is why staying up on what is happening in the guild is so important, not to mention why we even have a guildsite. == After things settle down a bit I intend on getting together with the Farland Clans Guildleader, Angus..and making our alliance with them official. I'll post it here when I do so you can take a looksee at their guildsite. == Now I wish to thank everyone who left a message of encouragement for Chief Garec. It is so wonderful to see people rally behind someone when they really need it, even if that person is a persona behind a computer screen. He might be such but he is also a -real- person with real troubles and problems like we all are. So from the bottom of my heart, I thank you for giving Garec your support.
OCTOBER 18, 1999: The alliance with the Farland Clan has been made official so if you see 'FC' running around with orange titles they are friends, not enemies.

The cleansing of the guildstone went about as planned, regardless of the lag and lack of attendance. We lost fifteen members who did not show or bother to contact me in any way saying they wished to remain in the guild. The total may seem shocking and to me it was, but now we know who are true members and who really wish to be active and help the guild grow. We also had four new recruits that night so something nice happened at least. OH! Towards the end of the meeting we were blessed by the appearance of Chief Garec!! He says he is doing well and it was wonderful seeing him.

A possible alliance with HOV, Hand of Virtue is being considered. They are a great group of people who are also allies of RPG, Rising Phoenix Guild. If you have any comments on this please post them on the board, icq me or email me..thanks.

I'm taking suggestions on what guildmembers think should be our next goal. We now have a bigger guildhouse but what do -you- see for CHB's future? Again, leave your ideas on the messageboard, icq me or email me..thanks.
OCTOBER 21, 1999: On October 24th, 1999..Breeanne Trueflight and Furmanator shall be married at Lord British's Castle approximately at 9:00pm cst. All in the guild are invited of course and we truly hope to see many of you there. The reception will be held at the Guildhouse afterwards and again, -all- are invited. Family, friends, allies...we extend the invitation to everyone who would wish to celebrate this joyous occassion.
