Background: Susan Ivanova was born in August 30th 2230 in St. Petersburg, in the Russian Consortium Earth. When Susan was in school is was well educated largely abroad, this was done through her mother, to prevent the Psi Core to learn that is in fact she is a latent telepath, despite the fact that is the lowest level that a person can be to considered a telepath. Her mother, Sofie, taught her how to avoid being discovered by the Psi Core and convinced her that she must never be scanned, but she allowed it once, by Lyta Alexander, this was to fine out if she was a sleeper, and she wasn't. Evenly the Psi Core found out that her mother was a telepath on her 35th birthday and slowly pushed toward suicide by it and before her mother took her life on her 45th birthday, she told her to go to one of her uncles houses, to wait for her. She waited all day and all night for her mother to come, but she didn't, because that was the day that she took her own life. This event had changed her life on two fronts, one it made her build a long and deep resentment for the organization and made her not trust people that they would wait for her.
After the death of her mother, Susan became estranged from her father, thus killed her father, Andrei from the inside. This divided that the two of them was only compounded through the fact that Susan joined Earth Force in 2247 against the better wishes of her father. She did this, because her brother, Ganya was killed in The Earth-Minbari War she did this because she felt that she had to finished what her brother had started.
The amazing thing about Susan Ivanova, that she got through the ranks without any type of connections or patrons, and that is something that is very proud to have. She is happy to know that she is where she is at, because of all of the hard that work that she had done in the past and she has not sole anybody out while on her way up the ranks. Thus this is the reason behind the she has a prefect record.
In 2250, she accepted the transfer at Io, and she thought that place was big and exciting. This was also the place were she first served under John Sheridan.
Then in January of 2258, she was appointed as Babylon 5's first officer. During that time Commander Sinclair had depended on her and discovered the fact that she was one of the finest officers that he had ever served with. Witch was the reason when the station was threaten to be destroyed by the Great Machine that was done on Epsilon III, that Sinclair told Gariabaldi, that she should be one the last shuttle that would take off from Babylon 5.
A year later, in 2259, Ivanova received a promotion as a full Commander the day that Captain Sheridan took command of Babylon 5. Her first assignment as a full Commander was to stop the fighting that was between the Green and Purple Groups of the Drazi during the battle of supremacy. She learned from the Drazi that this little war of theirs was a war that was based on tradition, and that the selection that the Drazi was totally random. The gain the leadership of the purple Drazi when she took the leadership slash, and thus she became the leader of this group of Drazi. When she did this she told them to dye their slashes green, thus stopping the their little war on the station. She paid the price for the peace and that was during a little a flight between the two, and that was she broke her foot when one of the Drazi landed on her foot.
Her next major diplomatic mission that she took under her wing was to convince the Lumati to join the Babylon 5 Project, as allies to the Earth Alliance, or as member as the League of Non Aligned Worlds. She did it when they took a tour of Down Below and she learned the hard way that the Lumati finalized any of their deals through an act of sex. She did because she was told the Lumati had no idea the human biology work and thus she did it the human way, that was in fact a manic dance around the Correlilumurzon.
At the end of that year she meet with Nightwatch representative, Mr. Welles and that the organization that he was apart of could find her a command faster, and the only thing that she had to do was to join the organization. Susan of course refuse to join, because she was already on the force to prove that President Luis Santiago was killed. At same time she was greeted by Captain Sheridan about the Rangers, and she floored him when she told Sheridan that she almost everything about the Rangers. She told Sheridan that this was her station and that it was her job to know everything that was going on that station, and if she didn't know about something, that was the time to worry. She also relieved to Sheridan that was a lanet telepath, but the Psi Core didn't know about that and she explain the reason why she dose not like to scanned by another telepath.
In 2260, she joined the War Council that Sheridan had formed and was showed a new breed of ships that would later been know as the White Star-class ship. In the same mission she meets for the first time, Marcus Cole, a Ranger that seem to have traits that were the same as hers. After the White Star's first mission, Commander Susan Ivanova did normal jobs from day to day. There was a second meeting of the War Council and this time, it was to talk about contacting races that were apart of the First Ones, this was because they knew that they were going to need their help if they wanted to stop the Shadows. While the meeting between Drall was to be with Sheridan, but he couldn't because he had a meeting with the political officer, so Ivanova had to be the one go down there and find the place were one of the First Ones traveled to. While on that mind trip that she had, she found out some information that President Luis Santiago was killed. She was the one that signally handed got a race know as the Walkers, to join in the Army of Light through a battle of wills. In the third meeting of the War Council she meet up with a doctor that had found the first Shadow ship on Mars and the second Shadow ship found on one of the moons of Jupiter. She knew that Sheridan was to be the one that would go out on that mission, insaided of her. She also helped Marcus get a ID and credit card so that he could used some of the station's other equipment that was off limits to him because of his lack of these things.
In The Battle of Euphrates, the battle were Babylon 5 broke away from the Earth Alliance, Ivanova was the one that commanded the station's Star Furies against the attacking Earth Alliance ships. She lost of her Star Fury in the battle, but she manage to survive the battle, with a couple of injuries that were to head and to her ribs. When Sheridan was about to take a Shadow ship, to test a theory that telepaths could jam a Shadow ship long enough to take one of them out, she suggested that they should have backup, with was passed. Sheridan also sent her out on a scouting mission before The Battle of Sector 83, on the White Star Prime, so they could judge how the area of space was going to like. When they saw the Shadow Scout ship and that their ship was given away due to the ending of an eliscape. She order the White Star Prime to fired on the Shadow Scout which she destroyed, but after the short battle between the two ships, they were heavy damage and a large Shadow Fleet had just jumped out of hyperspace. Seeing that Marcus sends out the signal to the rest of the fleet and they jumped into action. Like what happen in The Battle of Euphrates, Ivanova survived the battle despite the fact that her ship was badly beat up. At the end of the year, when the Shadows had took Sheridan back to Z'ha'dum on White Star Prime, she was the first person to know that something had happen to Sheridan while he was on Z'ha'dum.
In a two week period, in 2261, she was in an event that was called "The Hour of the Wolf", a time were she couldn't sleep and a time were she was in a depressed mood. That the only way that she could stop this was to go to Z'ha'dum herself for what she called a rescue mission to save Sheridan and to see if he was still alive or not. During that mission she was hypoisted by the sounds of the Shadows through what Lyta called the "The Eye". During that period of time, they got nothing from Sheridan and with that she knew that Sheridan was dead, that the only thing that she could do was to move on, kept her eyes on the goal. She was totally surprise to see that Sheridan was alive a well when he came back to Z'ha'dum with Lorien. She was the one that discovered the huge Vorlon fleet that was hyperspace while on their mission to find more First Ones.
She was sent back on that mission, but this through the help of Lorien, and with his help they got the reminding four First Ones to come out and help with the defend of both the Shadows and the Vorlons. After that she went back were the biggest battle that was every fought in the Shadow War.
After the Shadow War which they won, all of the leaders of the Army of Light went back to Babylon 5 to deal with the issues that deal with Earth. During that period of time, she fought with the Raiders and forced them to show their new Battle Wagon with them caught. She took her Furies back to Babylon 5, in there she picked up the Thridspace Device witch she brought back to Babylon 5. Doing this brought out the attention of IPX and the Device under the control of the aliens that were on the other side of the gate started to give dreams to some people on the station and Susan Ivanova was one of them. She refuse to give into the control of the aliens and because of that she fought in the battle against the ships that were from that group of aliens that resulted in the destruction of the Thridspace Device, the huge alien Battle Cruiser, and the fighters as well.
With that gone, Sheridan started to turn his attention to Earth, and he started with the use of the Voice of the Resistances, or knows as the VOR, she was the person to report the news. She got through the jammers through the use of Epsilon III technology. During the Earth's Civil War, she teamed up with Sheridan to help free the colonies and when Sheridan was captured, she swore that she was finished the work that Sheridan had started. She told Sheridan that meeting with Gariabaldi on Mars was a trap, and he shouldn't go down there, and he did. She told Babylon 5 that as soon as Gariabaldi step foot on Babylon 5, she wanted him shot on sight, because of what he did to Sheridan.
She fought with the Omega-class Destroyers that were the Orion and the Damocles and with the help of the White Star fleet she destroyed their ships with little to no sweat on her put. But it was the first officer that was from the Damocles that had told her about a new breed of destroyers that Clark had roll out just because of them. That the crews on that ship were fiercely loyal to Clark and thus would rather die than turn on him. She took the news in strive and she fought with Marcus a little, but she got a nap, that was longer than she thought that it would be. But still in enough time for her to get ready for the up and coming battle that she knew that she was walking into. In the battle she found out what the new ships were, they were Omega-class Destroyers that were covered by Shadow skin and when she greeted them with a power speech, she was the one that had started the fight between her ships and Clark's new fleet of ships. The White Stars defeated the ships, but there was a price to be paid by this, her White Star was destroyed by debris by a destroyed ship, and a part of the bridge fell on her, causing her fatally injuries.
On the eve of the last battle, she on her deathbed, she told Sheridan to take command of his former ship, the Agamemnon and make this ship the lead ship in the last battle in Earth's Civil War, which he did. As a sign as respect of her, because that was her last dying wish, and friendship as well. But unknown to Sheridan, Marcus on the other side wanted to help her and he did by bring her back to life through the used of the Alien Healing Machine that was located back on Babylon 5, which he did at the cost of his own life. Susan was extremely upset, because she had accepted her depth and that she had push Marcus away while he was trying to be nice to her. Doctor Franklin talks to her about this, and help her through this.
At the end of 2261, Susan was promoted the rank of Captain and given the assignment to be the first Captain of the first Warlock-class destroyers. For a one year shakedown on the ship. Earth Force allows this, because this was the last request that Sheridan had before he resigned from Earth Force.
Disposition: Ivanova shares her father's typically Russian realism and she had become famous on Babylon 5 for her sharp one-liners. As a result of this, many on the staff on Babylon 5 consider her to be a pessimist, but she also the person that can see clearly through things and bring people back to reality. She also likes her father when dealing with her emotions, and they are to keep them to herself. She believes that a good leader should have a strong chin.
