Site Updates Archive (July 2004)
News is not so new anymore. -- Thursday, July 29, 2004
I would like to apologize for holding back on my last update which was supposed to be finished last Monday. I was trying to recheck all of my HTML again to make absolutely sure that it was correct, and I was trying to at least get my Pokédex project started by listing names and numbers. I am sorry that I held back, but I must have made up for it in one way or another.
RBGY Items List, New Index Pages -- Monday, July 26, 2004
I have finished making an Items List for Pokémon RBGY using the item descriptions from Pokémon RS, the item icons from Pokémon FRLG, and the item prices I figured out from beating the whole game and saving all the items. This is great news since I now have an information section in my website that is both helpful and unique. Hopefully, I will be able to make more high quality sections in the future (mainly the Pokédex).
In other news, I have created the main information pages for Pokémon GSC, Pokémon RSE, and Pokémon FRLG. These pages contain basic information about the games, such as ESRB ratings, release dates, and maybe box art. None of the subsections actually work right now. I am just using them as placeholders for when I finish making the pages.
Back From Vacation; Pokémon Center NY Report -- Thursday, July 22, 2004
I was planning to complete my Pokémon RBGY Guide this summer, but my mother just bought us some plane tickets to Orlando and I was stuck on this five week vacation. From Florida, we went on a shorter vacation to New York, where I got to check out Pokémon Center NY. It seemed like a fun place, but I didn't own a Pokémon RS game or Pokémon TCG cards yet. I had to miss out on Pokémon trading & battles with the other gamers there.
Amazingly, I saw Pokémon Box RS on display with a $20 price tag. I decided to buy it because I found it interesting that the local GameStop didn't have it on shelves. Without knowing it, I was one of the few people to get Pokémon Box on the first day that it came out. I read there was going to be a special unveiling on July 10th, but I didn't see any "store trainers" showing off the Pokémon Box demo, and I didn't see anybody excited to buy Pokémon Box. For being among the first people to buy Pokémon Box RS, I was given some Pokémon badges for free (Diglet and Farfetch'd). I didn't bother to ask the lady for Charmander & Quilava.
Two days after buying Pokémon Box, I decided to buy Pokémon Sapphire just so that I can see what those Gotta Catch 'Em All stations are about. On the second floor, you get to put your GBA game into a slot in a small table and use a Gamecube controller to confirm that you have received a new Pokémon. Unlike getting Mew or Celebi fixed into your game, they just give you a Flygon, Seviper, or Absol. They mostly give you an Absol which sometimes has the move Wish.
I have been playing Pokémon Sapphire like crazy for the past week. I already played 79 hours in 10 days. I have 5 Gym Badges and am ready to breed Pokémon. It is now time for me to add important information about raising Pokémon. In the next couple of months, before Pokémon FRLG come out, I will be working hard on my website. I want to make a Pokémon Center NY section on the website and explain all of the cool stuff I see there.
