COMBAT
Normally the Earth Scrambler
attacks with its two stone-hard fists, causing 1d12 in damage with each,
but if it is very serious threatened, it will use its Earth Blast.
The Earth Blast is a cone
of earth, which the Earth Scrambler can spew from its mouth. The cone is
20 feet long, and about 8 feet wide at the end. The Earth Blast hits for
3d10 in damage to everyone caught in it, a saving throw versus Paralyzation
for half damage is allowed. Because the body of the Earth Scrambler is
made entirely out of earth and soft clay, piercing and slashing weapons
pass right through it, as the earth-wounds close immediatly afterwards.
Strangely enough, bludgeoning weapons seems to shatter the earth, causing
normal damage.
HABITAT/SOCIETY
Normally Earth Scramblers
only appears in the Prime Material Plane when they have been summoned.
Since an Earth Scrambler can't be controlled like their cousins ( because
of their telepathic link which prevents control ) they are most often summoned
by a mistake. Each time a Mage is trying to summon an Earth Elemental,
there is a 5 % chance that he has caught an Earth Scrambler instead, which
won't obey him ( an Earth Elementarist knows when he has caught an Earth
Scrambler and can stop the summoning if he wants to do so ). Those Earth
Scramblers that end on the Prime Material Plane, often dwell near great
gem-resources, making them an abomination to Dwarves, but a great help
to gem-hunters.
