The Captain's Log

Captains Log: Stardate:18170120.09
And I never really sleep anymore. And I always get those dangerous dreams. And I never get a minute of peace. And I gotta wonder what it means. Maybe it's nothing and I'm under the weather. Maybe it's just one of those bugs going round. Maybe I'm under a spell and it's magic. Maybe there's a witch doctor with an office in town. Oh is this a blessing or is it a curse?. Does it get any better? Can it get any worse?. Will it go on forever or is it over tonight? Does it come with the darkness? Does it bring out the light? Is it richer than diamonds or just a little cheaper than shit? I don't know what it is but it just won't quit And there used to be such an easy way of living And there used to be every hope in the world And I used to get everything that I went after But there never used to be this girl, but there never used to be this girl Maybe I'm crazy and I'm losing my senses Maybe I'm possessed by a spirit or such Maybe I'm desperate and I've got no defenses Can you get me a prescription for that one perfect touch? There was a time when nothing ever really mattered. There was a time when there was nothing I didn't know. There was a time when I knew just what I was living for. There was a time and the time was so long ago. And I never really sleep anymore © Jim Steinman

What a concert that was!!! WOW! Jazz Dave has given me some music to sort out for his next concert, which was tonight actually, but I was too busy to go.. That packing is looking harder and harder all the time - we lost the house we wanted, but there's plenty more fish in the sea.. maybe we'll actually find a plaice that doesn't have bendy floors like the one we wanted.
My Jim Steinman CD has gone missing, I begin to fear it may have eloped with my Motorhead CD - that has gone walkies too... I guess some things just dont want to move house.

Left eyebrow is getting more and more worried by the hour. How can I tell it the truth? Answers on an Email marked "Your eyebrow problems" to the usual address please.

Just got back from a jazz concert - HI Dave! Still no word on the house, but no news is good news eh? Going up to see Mrs. S this weekend, and we off to see Humphrey Littleton, Acker Bilk and Kenny Ball in concert!
Redesigned the background on the website (in case you hadn't noticed) and my space bar has started to play up on the keyboard. Would fork out for a new one, but I want a really nice one with lots of extra buttons and go faster stripes and stuff - so I'll make do until after the holiday - Mrs. S would kill me if I went and spent 30 quid on a keyboard just before the holiday.. (I know I know.. under the thumb.. but then again, what honest-red blooded male WOULDN'T wanna be under HER thumb? :-) )
Mrs. Madd Matt has left us now - nothing much to add to that comment, just thought you might like to know that's all :) well that's all the news for this time - see ya next week!

10 days without an update?? What can i say.. I been sitting here for 5 days thinking up a decent excuse, but I failed. :-)
Mrs. S visited this weekend and we went off house hunting. Found a lovely place (but I aint gonna telly you any more incase you try to buy the place just to annoy us). With thanks to Jenny and Jackie at the estate-agents. Had a wonderful weekend, and I am going back there this weekend, so dont expect to see me online! :)

OOOps - i have been so busy busy ßusy lately that I just havent had time to write a few notes. So anyway, what have I been doing these past few days. Well, it is at times like this and i realise how boring I actually am. I have spent quite a while watching Big Brother - and came to great revelation. Why not take 10 homeless people - and invite them on the show! The format remains the same, with someone being booted out each week, but at least the homeless get somewhere to go, and the money would do them good! (Legal note: If this idea is put to use, remember you saw it here first. Captain Stable and Miracle Web Publishing (Telly Programmes Dept.) would like at least 10% of the gross taking in this venture. Thank you.

On the CD player this week:
Meat Loaf - Bat out of Hell 2

So - what's been happening this week? Nothing much.. Watched the Grand Prix on sunday, fell asleep. Had another concert on Wednesday and discovered that they recorded the last concert! I wish I had known, else i wouldn't have dropped that huge fart during the 1812.. Spent most of the week playing Half-Life: Opposing Force. Finished it today - what a frig ending that was! Don't bother to play the game, the end is not worth it.. Read my mate Lurk's website and saw his log page.. it is a lie - he never did. I was waiting in the freezing cold, dying of thirst.
Well I am off to se Mrs. s tomorrow, so you won't see me for a few days... :-) No new pages this week, I'm afraid.. although I have got an idea of a joke.. just got to work out the correct way to use it...

No updates on this log page for over 2 weeks now - SORRRRY stablees and stabletts (of course there was that pathetic attempt earlier this week - but that has been deleted!) So what has happened? Mrs S and me are off on our holidays later this year (No I am not telling where we're going, I dont our lovely week break in the Ceaser Augustus Hotel in Lido de Jeslo ruined by Stablettes wanting to invade our privacy) and are going later this year.
Me and Mrs. S also spent saturday night with Lipps and Mr. Lipps, at a wedding, which was nice. We popped over to see them on Monday, but one of them was out. I got stuck on the slide and everyone laughed :(
Meanwhile - I have been attempting to learn Italian ready for our holiday (did i mention that?) and watching the wonderful Ken Burns JAZZ documentary on telly. Last wednesday I had a concert and afterwards went to see LURK (owner of lurkshideout) for a chinwag and stuff. He never even invited me in for a cuppa (tho he will deny it I bet :-D )
Oh I also made a new page for your enjoyment

Book being read:
Star Wars - Darth Maul : Shadow Hunter by Michael Reeves - Just finished it tonight... VERY good story, and a great prelude to Phantom Menace. If you liked the film, try this book. The outcome is evident from the first page because of what happens in the film, but it is still a good read.. Not sure what I gonna read now.. maybe Star Wars (I back in the mood again) - Balance Point by Kathy Tyers.

Eyebrow sighting of the week:
Received a postcard from Mexico earlier this week from my left eyebrow. He claims he is having a wonderful time, and doesn't miss right eyebrow at all. I tried to make sure Righty doesn't see it, but I think she found it whilst i was alseep. I hope she doesn't do anything stupid...

Captains Log: Stardate:01220143.06.
Just got back from a concert with the Brass band - went well. Other than that spent a long weekend with Mrs. S. Had a great time as usual, but she did drag me round Ikea...(c'mon - say "aaaahhhhh"). We visited this amazing shop in Croyden called "A place in space" or something (BIG hello to Alison and Steve - thanks for the cards :) ) which we could have spent all day in.
Had the most amazing greek meal EVER.. it was Pizza because we couldn't find a greek restaurant that was open..
Meanwhile I realised that I have not seen my left eyebrow for over a month now...

Naffy joke of the week:
So Arnie goes into his agents office one day and his agent says
"Arnie Baby, I got a real great film here. DaVinci, Michalangelo, Dali and Rembrand get sucked out of time, thrown into present day New York, and go on a killing rampage. It's upto 4 classical composers (also sucked through time) to stop them by any means necessary. Now, work with me here baby, Stallone says he's in, Van Damme's not sure, Lungrens says he'll do it if he can be Mozart. What about it Arnie?"
and Arnie says

"I'll be Bach!"

Thought of the week:
re'flex n. reflex action -a. (of musclar action) involuntary; bent back
-relex'ive a. Grammer describes verb denoting agent's action on himself

no where does it mention a little kid waiting in a park, so Duran Duran kinda messed that one up really, didn't they!

Captains Log: Stardate:23230155.05.
Spent the weekend with Mrs. S, sitting on the beach, and driving her car (you seen her car? better go to her web page (remember to come back here tho)). Got some nice looks driving that lil devil down the sea front :)
Spent the rest of the week relaxing after my stage debut, I upgraded my videocard to a voodoo 5 5500 - I suppose one day I will get round to giving a full spec of my system...) and a nice new shiney soundcard. Also bought Star Wars Force Commander to play. Graphics card installed fine, and Team Fortress plays brilliant with it (I do play BTW, I am "I R Pants" or "I am Cack" depending on what mood I am in..)

Captains Log: Stardate:20010101.05.
It has been bought to my attention that certain person(s) may have obtained the wrong end of the stick with regard my feelings toward the London Eye. It was fantastic! I know I made it sound boring, but believe me it is anything but! We went late evening and as we started our top rise we saw the first few lights go on around the city. Over the top and the sun began to set, the begining of the descent saw most the city lit, and on the way down the sun had set for a wonderfully romantic view. It was breathtaking and wonderful, and my words may never do justice to it at all.

Ok time for the log.

Spent most of the week preparing for my stage debut on Friday night, which went well. I over acted on Saturday night and gained a lot of laughs for my silly facial expressions. Friday night I gained a big "aaaaahhhhh" from the audience when no body would help me with my trousers...(don't ask!) But other than that it all went well :) But I aint doing it again mind....
Meanwhile I picked up some old vinyl records from a friend who was getting rid of them. They included Now that's what I call music volums 1 through to 20! - so plenty of music there to listen to :)
Ohh - and Mrs. S came up to visit for the weekend.

Captains Log: Stardate:10190106.05.
WOW! wot a week this has been. I visited Mrs. Stable at the weekend and gave her the suprise present - I aint gonna tell you what it is.. unless you beg :) - and on the saturday we went off on the mammoth CD hunt. I have been searching for one particular CD for a while now, and a friend told me about a Jazz cd that I should listen to, so off me and Mrs. S went to find them. We tried 6 shops, in 2 towns, and neither had either of them. So coming home in despair (well not really, just a little annoyed not to get them) we decided to visit the big city the next day where I was assured I would get them.
So next morning we get up bright and early (around 10 o clock!) and take the tube in to London. Would you believe it - we're early! London doesn't open until midday! (let that be a lesson to all you tourists). So after trailing around a seedy area of Soho we finally went back where I found both cd's!!! Woooaahhhooo! So from there it off to Covent Gardens to see the pleb's on the streets, then off to Trafalger Square to see Nelly and the lions (and a demonstration). Having caught out breaths Mrs. S took the wrong road and we wandered down towards Buck House to see Madge. A quick shoot through Horse Guard Parade to say hello to the guards and onwards to Big Ben. We got tickets for the London Eye and went to the Imax Cinema. Word of warning for anyone wanting to do the pilgrim tour later in the year - there is a cafe near the London Eye, inside County Hall - don't go there - they charged me over 2 pounds for a cold cup of tea. Mind you we did get a nice ashtray out of it...
What can I say about the London Eye? It's made of glass, it turns round, you can see things, if someone farts your trapped in there. It's actually quite good (© 2000 London Tourist Board)
Anyhoo, we came back after spending almost 12 hours there, and we are determined to go there again.

So - what did you do at the weekend then?

On the CD player this week:
Meat Loaf - Bat out of Hell 2

Also Miles Davis - Milestones from somewhere, but I forget where... Been a hectic weekend you know!

Book being read:

Ok so I know it's posted early, but Thursday is a busy day for me, I got a jazz concert to attend!
Anyway - what's been happening in the land of fun this week? well - ummm - not much really. Only had one day off this week, and I spent that sleeping, eating and watching Grand prix. Went to an unnamed shop named Tesco's because it said it was open 24 hours and it was closed. I didnt realise they meant 24 hours a week! Gave my star ship a slight clean up, and cleared up up those bits of fluff that accumulate around the shield generators. Dontcha just hate it when thta happens?

Captains Log: Stardate:27220143.04.
A thousand pardons for not updating til now - mind you it is only the first week I have missed since doing this log. So - what's happened this week fortnight? WELL! I came back from seeing Mrs. S only to find that our favorite chat room is being "Re-renovated" (in the name of improvement). Not mentioning which Mplayer.com it was we used to use, but they know who they are. Suffice to say we don't visit there anymore. No! We found (with great thanks to Lurk) a new hideout.. But I'm not going to spoil your fun by telling you which one it is. Hey! There's an idea for anew game. Try to find us in a chat room, and you will win a banana. Remember we are not always logged on as Captain Stable and Eunos.. we may by anywhere, we may be anyone. Everyone you see in a chat room, ask if you win a banana, and if it's me your chatting to, you do!
Elsewhere, nothing much has happened. same old same old. You know..

I haven't seen my left eyebrow since returning. I am begining to worry. Right says she doesn't care and hopes he's dead, but underneath the rough exterior I think she is genuinly worried.

I will update you on music and books and purchases and stuff later on this week.

Ohh yeah, and my eyebrow is still being naughty. He refused to come up this weekend, and said he lots of work to do and would prefer to stay at home..Right eyebrow is skeptical.
Captains Log: Stardate:11240122.04.
Well the rehersals for the play are going well - I only mess up hlf my lines now. Not long to go, so I got to try to get Mrs. Stable to help me out reading the lines. Maybe I can get her to take my place in the play instead. Sssshhh - dont tell her what i thinking, I spring it on her just before I tell her I am pregnant. Ohh - did I not tell you that? Well I think I am.. I going to the doctors on Friday to find out. (I'll let you know first, dont worry tho)

Captains Log: Stardate:28060100.03. A wednesday for a change.
Jason seems to have left me totally now, and I admit i am in despair. I spent most of the weekend searching for a darn CD which i had been assured would be put back for me in a certain shop (not naming the name or location of the store in question) but they failed to do so, causing me and Mrs. Stable some strife.
Home again by tuesday, and this site received a small upgrade in the form of an on-line poll about meatloaf.
My left eyebrow is making odd humming noises during the day, and acting up in the evenings, often coming home very late. I worry for it sometimes.
Veruca's are not something I suffer from at all.
(Kingston)

On the CD player this week:
Meatloaf - Bat out of Hell 2.
Paula Abdul (go on - laugh!) - Forever your girl

STOP PRESS:
Just purchased from Newton Abbot Market (thanks Mr. Man) - a lovely selection of singles.. including Black Lace - Agadoo, Renee and Renato - Save your Love, The Tweets - The Birdy Song. As well as the album of the soundtrack of the motion picture "Streets of Fire" (Eat your heart out Lobo! I bought the film before your eyes, now I got the album). Of course, I would have bought this album anyway as the music is just fantastic - but it is even better once I learnt that Jim Steinman wrote some of the music!!!!!! (drool).
Oh yeah - two more things.. 1) All these were on Vinyl.. 2) Renee and Renato sound great played at the wrong speed :-)

Captains Log: Stardate:22450122.03. A thursday, again....
It is with some sad regret that I have not been myself much this week. I have tended to be a person going by the name of Jason, who believes that the world will be infected with a deadly plague causing all humanity to turn to jellied eels. But the condition seemed to clear up on Tuesday, following the death of my grandmother. The following lines are left silent as tribute.

Thank you.

Well, it's been a whole starweek since I decided to keep a record of my activities, and already I have updated. I am impressed. Nothing much really happened this week. Worked as usual, played my music as usual. Did some of this, as usual. Got drunk, as usual. Slept, as usual. Read a book, as usual. No exciting Emails, as usual... Oh well..
Mind you, I did update this site with a new comic relief thing, which will be updated at exactly stardate 16000100.03 for 24 hours, and I also completed Half-Life. Tried to install counter-strike, but it failed.. got it to work the second time, like usual....
Oh yeah, and at the weekend I went to see Mrs. Stable, but then I left.(as usual)

Captain's Log. Stardate:08550118.03.
Having decided to start making weekly logs of my activities, I am aware that I shall probably have given up on the idea after just 1 week. Nevertheless I am going to start with this week. Watched a Big Band in concert on stardate 03300119.03, which was very pleasant even if the accomadation wasnt. The breakfast wasnt worth mentioning. So I wont. Egg, bacon, sausage and some baked beans, and they still had the nerve to charge an extra Earth Pound for the privalige of washing it down with coffee. Still what do you expect from the 21st century. They know nothing about fried food yet.
The start of the Grand prix season also occured this starweek, which was exciting. My thoughts go to the family of the marshall. Other than that I resumed my human disguise to blend in with the natives, and worked at the shop all week.
Oooh yeah - almost forgot. Mrs. Stable saw me but left soon after.

On the CD player this week:
Meatloaf - Bat out of Hell II
Meatloaf - Welcome to the NeighbourHood
Rod Mason and his Hot 5 - Dixieland Jubilee 2000
Glenn Miller - The best of
Miles Davies - Bitches Brew

Purchase of the week:
