The Opinion Boards

What is it?
The OBs (Opinions Boards) are just there to provide a quick and easy way to set down your own opinions on a particular topic. In this way every article that’s printed on Above the Law can develop and grow as more people pitch in with their opinions and additional info can be tagged on as more Buffy episodes are broadcast.

Why is it?
Previously the position has been that all opinions had to be laboriously added by hand (by me) which led there sometimes being several weeks delay in between a person writing in and their opinion actually appeared. The OBs automatically exactly what I’d been doing manually before but doing it a whole of a lot faster, hopefully encouraging more discussion.

How do I post my opinion?
Very simply, just click the ‘Add Reply’ button at the top or the bottom of the page and fill in the fields for your webname, the subject and your opinion. You don’t need to register or provide an email address, be warned however that your ip address will be logged and any abuse of the board will result in action being taken.

Each post will then be looked over by a moderator before it is released for public viewing so there will be a delay in your opinion appearing, this is to prevent non-prurient or offensive material being posted.

I don’t have a subject for my opinion, do I have to fill in the subject field?
Unfortunately at the moment every field has to be completed, including the subject field. If you’re a registered ezboard member then you can adjust your preferences so that the subject field will be filled automatically. If you’re not registered then you only need put in a single character of your choice to proceed. If you are concerned that you might be posting a UK spoiler then please write in your subject heading ***SPOILER*** and then the episode title

I have an idea for a new article, how do I post it?
Same way as usual, send in your article or idea to voxsententia@yahoo.com and, when it’s ready, it will have the usual html page and a new opinion board constructed. See the Submit page for further details.

Spoilers
This is a UK site and therefore every episode that has been aired in the UK (whether on BBC or SKY) is deemed public knowledge, the site is therefore unsafe for those of us watching Buffy on terrestrial BBC. Any details of episodes that have not aired in the UK that are posted will be held back until the relevant episode has passed only if the episode title is written in the subject heading. If an unmarked spoiler is posted it will be removed (and I will be somewhat pissed at having been spoiled).

If your comments include information which has not yet aired on UK SKY tv please include a spoiler warning. If you are not sure where the UK has reached please click here to check or include the episode title anyway. If you do not know the episode title please click here to look for it.

If you want a US-safe area of Buffy discussion then I suggest the All Things Philosophical about BtVS message board.
If you want a BBC-safe area of Buffy discussion then I suggest the BBC forums in the Stakehouse.
