A Siskoid by any other name #6

Part 6 in a series of articles devoted to the many "-oids" to be found in Star Trek. An "-oid" is of course a somewhat skewed version of regular Trek character. These are not dreamcards (at least not yet), they are actually guesses as to the future of Personnas and AU personnel in this game of ours. Now before I take the plunge into a very very oidish character like Data, let me take a big breath of air by doing someone more modest...

BEVERLOIDS

First, of course, are the Beverlys that exist already:
1-Premiere Bev (obviously not an -oid)
2-FC Bev (again not an -oid)
3-Beverly Picard: The Pasteur's captain is most definitely an -oid (no, not annoyed) and, all things considered, a pretty good card.

Unfortunately, there isn't a whole lot more:
4-1st Season Bev: Goes with the rest of this dream set (see my other articles for more). What is she good for? Well, how about downloading Wesleys to go with her totally annoying mothering throughout that season? ("Come back here, Wesley!")

5-Beverly's "character" in the holographic Dixon Hill capers leaves a lot to be desired. She chews gum and gets mistaken for a hooker. Wow. Nothing here.

6-Younger Beverly: From "Violations". In this episode we see a recently-widowed Beverly from some years before. No card comes to mind.

7-Dr. Crusher (Barash): In the Barash illusion, I'm afraid Bev doesn't seem to change that much. She's older sure, but that's about it. Another dead end.

8- Barclay's fantasy Beverly: In his holodeck creations, Beverly gets turned into a courtisan sitting on a swing. Is there no viable card in Crusher's future???

9-Spy Team Crusher: Well, here's one from "Chain of Command". While I wouldn't have mentionned a blacksuited Worf as an -oid because it falls into his realm of expertise, Bev is another matter entirely. How did she ever get picked for Black Ops duty? Spy Bev would need another set of skills completely to actually do the mission as seen in the episode, like Treachery (which I equate with spy skills) or Espionnage any Cardassian mission.

10-Jean-Luc and Beverly, sitting in a tree...: As probable a two-personnel card as we're likely to see (between you, me and the rest of the world, I don't believe Decipher will make any more dual-personnel, but you never know). This is of course from the episode "Attached" and would feature Picard and Crusher much in the same way they are now, except both on the same card (a la Sisters of Duras).

11-Among the more obscure Beverlys, I include the one from "Remember Me". In this episode, the good doctor winds up as the sole crew of the USS Enterprise. (May staff any ship alone regardless of requirements?) I like, but I doubt.

12-Scottish Setter Bev: I believe this has already been taken care of.

13-The Dancing Doctor: Let's not even go there!

Beverly really gets the short end of the stick as far as the bridge crew goes. She's unfortunately rather invisible in most AU shows. For example, is "Parallels" Bev any different from the regular doctor? Is she even in "Yesterday's Enterprise" and "Qpid"? I can't seem to remember. For good reason I imagine. I think that once Beverly Picard had been made, that particular well had pretty much run dry. Sigh.
