Officially on the Realms, there is NO Dark Knights'
Code. However, I have written a bit of what I feel is my
personal code as well as posting some others'
versions that I agree (in part) with.

I am a Half-Elven Dark Knight. These are my opinions on my guild.

I am first and foremost a Knight. I am honorable. I do not break laws, but bend them as I see fit..even to the point of near-breaking. Whatever I do is for my benefit. I maintain my fealities because I must protect my face and honor as a Knight. I assist my guild members because I have sworn fealty to the Dark Knights guild. I also realize that there is strength in numbers and that by supporting me, I gain support from them. I am a Serrllachian Freewoman. As a lady of the Kingdom, I recognize my fealty to the Son and Daughter. Assisting a paladin, despite my opposition to them, does not trouble me. I recognize them as members of the same Kingdom. I swore oath to the Kingdom. I must protect the whole for it is to MY benefit to do so. I receive services in return. What makes me evil besides my devotion to the Dark Gods is that I am ultimately self-serving. I do not betray friends unless it is more beneficial for me to do so.

As for my view on the Dark Knights, I view the Orcs and Trolls as smelly, stupid creatures who disgrace the armour of a Dark Knight by their very stench. I view the Drow as a shiftless, cunning, and unknightly race. They are masters of deception and by their lying and inability to be TRUELY honorable, should not be Dark Knights. They do not serve the Dark Gods of the surface and are tied to that Spider Bitch, Lolth. As a Half-Elf, I am tied to the Human race - the ultimate race and the race that made the great empire of Hylar. I am half-elven by birth and my parent's choice. However, I recognize the weakness of elves but also see the strengths in certain fields that it has given me. I can accredit some of my high intelligence to my elven parentage as well as my dexerity.

Other Opinions

"I am a Dark Knight. I have a personal agenda, the details of which are none of your business.
If someone or something promotes that agenda, I support it.
If someone or something inhibits that agenda, I deal with it.
If someone has no effect on that agenda, then they are ignored.

This means, for example:

I help newbies, because it is convenient to have people indebted to me.
I support my guild, because there is strength in numbers.
I am respectful to the priests guild, because their skills are of use to me.
I do not randomly PK. Enemies are a part of life, but instigating vendettas for their own sake is foolhardy.
I don't promote some mystical ideal of EVIL or CHAOS; I promote me.
Some may consider my actions charitable. They are mistaken and therefore unprepared to deal with me.
If the actions of a Dark Knight make my life difficult, I will deal with the difficulty first. I will only deal with the Knight as a last resort, because the resources of the guild are a major source of my power."

"Dark....

This means that I'm selfish....I place myself first.
I promote evil, chaos, those are what I follow.
A knight follows a code....for good, it is chivalry...
For evil, it damn well ain't.

Therefore, I offer a slightly different code...for roleplaying purposes :)

1. Place the good of yourself first...
2. Never betray a friend who's usefulness to you outweighs the benefits of betrayal.
3. Make enemies...No one has ever been betrayed by an enemy.
4. The weak are there for the benefit of the strong...Repression helps weed out the weak, making a stronger whole.
5. The purpose of war is not to die for ones country (guild, org, whatever) but to make the other side die for thiers.
6. Knowledge is power, so gain all the knowledge you can.
7. Show your enemies weakness, but only where you have none...then, they will strike there, and you will strike them down."
