Lying low in Chicago after problems with Pentex in the Northern Territories, Brad earned his way in a small bookshop owned by a fellow Tradition mage when he fell foul of a vampire called Alicia who blamed him for the theft of a book titled "The Book of the Wyrm" which she had had on order, and which Brad had recently 'retrieved' from a Sabbat Brujah-antitribu Pack with the aid of his enchanted sword.

Faced with the choice of a long and painful death or returning the book, Brad gathered some friends and went in search of the true thieves - friends of the Sabbat from whom the book had been stolen in the first place.

The Pack fled to Milwaukee, closely pursued by The Arc (as Matted Fur christened their group), where the Arc promptly lost track of their prey (mainly because the Sabbat had wandered straight into the arms of the Prince of that city who promptly slew them, went insane when he read the book and was slain in turn by a passing Malkavian elder - but that's another story).

Brad and his compatriots instead encountered Coyote who adopted the Arc as a pack and informed them of the true significance of the book - pointing out that Black Spiral Dancers and Infernalist Kindred were preparing to make blood-sacrifice to release their patron. Brad led the Arc in pursuit of the conspirators and ended up facing off against the demon Drakonskyr deep below an island just off the Scottish mainland.

The events of that conflict are still sketchy, but some months later, the Akashic Brother known as Tiger Tanaka was rescued from the Umbra by a deeply Quiet Brad who had returned to the Northern Territories in search of his sanity and somewhere lonely to hide.
