Bess Martin is the only member of Eden Advance born and raised on Earth. Though she moved to the stations when she married Morgan Martin, Bess never forgot where she came from. Therefore, she more quickly adapts to life on G889 than the others. Though she frequently acts as a buffer between her husband and the group, Bess is eager to be part of the Eden Advance team. Using her Earth-learned bartering skills, she makes the first contact with the Grendlers, an indigenous species who are traders by nature. Though basically sweet-natured, Bess does possess strong protective instincts and will defend herself (and Morgan) if feeling threatened.
