Klank, clang, screech, 3Oof,2 said the monster,
but the fight was not over yet. The Klingon in a Starfleet uniform
stood over the enemy but it got up and grabbed for Worf, but he ducked
away and brought the bat1leth right down into the chest of the monster.
It fell to the ground and shimmered away.

The bridge was quiet with only the hum of the
engines and occasional beeps. 3Incoming hail, sir,2 said Worf, 3It1s
coming from a Klingon ship that has just decloaked off to port side.
3On screen,2 said Picard. A Klingon
face appeared on the foward viewscreen.
3We wish to speak with your tactical officer,
Mr. Worf,2 said the Klingon.
3Very well, said the captian.
Worf paced his quarters. He wondered
what the Klingon meant by saying that Worf could get back his honor from
the Empire. What would he have to do? Just then he got an answer.
His desktop viewer beeped and Worf went over to it. He recieved a
message from the same Klingon he had spoken to before, his name turned
out to be Groth, that stated that Worf could only get back his honor by
answering some questions about confidential Starfleet information.
What would he choose? His honor from the Klingon Empire, or loyalty
to the Federation?
The next day the Chief Security Officer of
the Enterprise-D was very quiet. He knew that he should easily be
able to report Groth to Picard, but he wasn1t able to do it then.
3What is wrong with me?2 he wondered, 3I1m a Starfleet officer, and a security
one at that.2 Late that night he got another message from Groth requesting
answers to the questions. Worf responded by saying that some people
got suspicious and it would still be a while. He also asked what
the information would be used for.
During duty the next morning Picard called
Worf into his ready room. When one other than the captian entered
this room, they become very nervous, just like a student in a room alone
talking to a teacher sitting at the desk. To make it worse, Picard
has a habit of not speaking first. Now Worf was in this situation,
but being a Klingon stood up straight and waited for whatever was coming.
3Mr. Worf, you know that I like my crew to
share any problems or diffuculties they are having on or off duty.2
3Yes, sir.2
3Is anything bothering you Mr. Worf?2
3Sir, nothing is stopping or disrupting me from
doing my duty.2
3Red alert!2 shouted Riker.
Picard and Worf immediatly went to their
positions, Picard in his chair and Worf at Tactical. 3What1s going
on?2 said Picard, a little annoyed.
Data replied, 3The Klingon ship has powered
up its weapons and shields and is assuming a firing position.2
3Shields up!2 ordered Riker.
3Sir, they have locked their phasers and torpedos
exactly at deck 11, section 12,2 said Worf.
3Why there?2 said Picard.
3Unknown, sir,2 said Worf. The dark-green
Klingon ship was ready to spit out her bolts of energy at the Enterprise.
The ship was shaking as its Klingon rougness showed. The phaser banks
lit up with a bright green glow, and then let go. The Klingon ship
fired on the Enterprise relentlessly on deck 11, section 12. The
Enterprise was not harmed and returned phaser fire, causing the Klingon
ship to move away and cloak.
3Mr. Worf, keep weapons at ready,2 said Riker.
3Sir, it is unlikley that they will fire again
soon,2 informed Worf. Soon the bridge returned to normal, except
for questions in the heads of everyone, everyone except for Worf, because
he knew exactly what had happened. He gave the Klingons information,
but all false and useless. He knew that the Klingons thought that
they caused a lot of damage to the Enterprise, and it would be willing
to surrender to them. But Worf gave them information that actually
told them where the shields are very strong. Now all he had to do
was tell the captain and deal with the Klingons. How hard could that
be, yeah, how hard could it be?
Worf went to the meeting with the senior officers
in the conference room with a straight face, but a lot on his mind.
How would Picard react to him holding back the information so long?
He would soon find out. After the usual opening and presenting of
what happened, Picard finally opened up the conference to suggestions about
why it happened and what was coming next. Picard looked at Worf.
3Sir, I know exactly what happened, and as
head of security and a Starfleet officer I will tell you so there will
be no more secrets,2 said Worf. He received all the raised eyebrows
he could ask for. Picard gestured for him to continue.
3On the night after our first contact with
the Klingon ship I received a private encoded message from Groth, the captian.
He asked for informaion on the Federation1s weaknesses. I believe
the attack on the Enterprise was a test of the informaiton I gave him.
As you might have noticed, I did not give him correct information,2 responded
Worf, wondering what was going to happen next, and so was everybody else
in the room.
3Thank you, Mr. Worf, dismissed,2 said Picard
as if the meeting had come to a normal end. But everybody of course
moved slowly to make sure that they didn1t miss anything. Glances
were exchanged, and it seemed as if nobody knew what to do, so they left.
Just as Worf was exiting, Picard called him back in. They had a short,
but strict conversation about what happened. It seemed like Picard
was satisfied with what Worf did in the end, but was a bit dissapointed
in how he hesitated about telling his captian what had happened.
That evening the Klingon ship decloaked and hailed
the Enterprise.
3So Worf, I see that you are loyal to your
Starfleet. Is this true?2 asked Groth in a strange way.
3Yes,2 said Worf as strong but unemotional
as possible.
3Congratulations, your and your father1s name
now recieve honor from the great Klingon Empire. I see you still
have some Klingon loyalty in your blood. You were able to refuse
a great offer.2 The screen went back to the thousands of visible
stars in the one small section of Federation space. Worf was happy
to know that he was respected in at least some sections of three infinite
dimentions.
The Klingon ship cloaked and warped away towards
Klingon territory. They might come back to visit Worf again to make
sure he is still a Klingon warrior, they will.
