This poem's a little crappy
But I hope you"ll all be happy
I wanted something fluent and flamboyant
But created this, incoherent
By nominal roll I shall introduce
So that the mind will not confuse
The resident genius right on top
Was bestowed the name of "luck non-stop"
His brain and attitude one kind
Helpfulness and tolerance perpetually hard to find.
He takes great interest in people and planes
It's none other than Gan Heng
Next is the class jester
Using the font in all his letters.
Just that day his butt affinity for the floor
Caused the class incessant guffaw
One whose brain power not so mighty
But comic antics aplenty
Jonathan's the title
He also quite sentimental
No.3 is Ang Wee Tiong
He's pretty garang and quite 'hiong"
Outgoing, outspoken and very direct
His mind a good mix of vulgarities and facts
The first girl after the 3 guys
Don't mess around, very wise
Articulate and sweet
My God-sis the ultimate petite
A sniper in every way
Aced her studies, still got time to play
Answers to Zoë Gan Sze Hui
Her faith in God reverent
Oh Lord make us thy servants!
The next character I cannot remember
So little Jean I will place
Her bubbly mood and Smurfy face
A chubby stature fall into place
A great pal to converse and confide
Faith on Christ never backslides
I really think that she's so swell
Her trio Jo, Ivy and Noelle
Alvina the next female
Her spontaneous comments never fail
Michael the dark horse is a sure winner
No problems with his studies this big grinner
His ever friendly disposition
Is amplified in all his actions
The fair maiden of the class
Is New Zealand's finest lass
Conscientious and ever thinking,
Tutorials on par and never slacking.
Oh Karen what a name
Your diligence truly puts most to shame
Chook Chook Chook the chopper's here
Uncle Ron's in the seat, my dear
His humour nature can never be surpassed
Make me and Heng laugh till we concuss
His circle of friends couldn't be any bigger
He can manipulate women with his little finger
Always smiley and happy-go-lucky
He is really a great buddy
Oh no I nearly missed
A beauty with brains, Louis
Expressions of hers amusing
Intellect from her diffusing
Pretty nice and soft-spoken
Makes a great friend I reckon
Ok Joe the computer whiz
He's the group rep of all our quiz
Organising all kinds of outings
But unforeseen circumstances a sprouting
He's always happy never worried or stressed
The panic button he never once press
He clicks with everyone around
A sense of upright to him bound
The class Mr amiable
Is simply incomprehensible
On how he could ever lose his temper
Or let out a wail or a whimper
Always helpful and considerate
A good friend in him you relate
Well this is it my fragments of thought
I hope to you no horror brought
I will miss them should we part
The Class Spirit forever in my heart

By ME

The Old Man
A bent back, the aches rampant
War torn scars and wrinkles abundant
His crown of silver and sun scorched skin
The pains of life through which seep in
Scrutinising his face
His eyebrows symmetrically placed
Eyes of slit that long have strained
The dwindling vision now sustain
Wind burnt lips and hollowed cheeks
Simplicity is all he seeks
A missing incisor causes his speech to stumble
The dialect spoken seems a mumble
Hearing aid behind the ear
Words we speak still to him not clear
His physical frame weathered by age
The bluish veins on him a cage
His clothes a muddled tinge of colour
A smell of decadence on me overpowers
Ever wonder what goes through his mind?
"Why did my wife leave me behind?"
Loneliness and solitude
A wait for death its prelude
My children filial piety refuse
They will suffer I deduce
Sympathy from any I do not crave
But it"ll be good, a warm smile or wave
Just to feel appreciated
My present existence not so wasted
Most people oblivious to my fate
The rush of life and what it dictates
Love is lacking in the world
Self-centred and hatred seem to prevail
No longer can man trust each other
They just stand back and watch you suffer
I do really miss those good old days
People then caring unfazed
Well when I breathe my last
All this will soon pass
My eyes finally close my heart a beating cease
From the mortality I am RELEASED!!!!
