The X-Files: 'Dreamland II'

Mulder is trapped in Area 51 employee Morris Fletcher's body, and is having trouble coping with a newfound family. Meanwhile, Morris has decided to enjoy life in Mulder's body...

Now, admittedly the second part of this two-parter doesn't really explain much, and does the Star Trek trick of using almost a literal reset button, but it's still good fun along the way. What it isn't is as funny as the first part, plus the concept of Mulder's life being a bit sad has been pretty much done to death now after Small Potatoes.

Having said that, there's lots to love here. The cool effects of various people and objects being melded (the amorous couple is particularly unpleasant) are good, and Fletcher's meeting with the Lone Gunmen is hilarious, as he points out just how right they've been all these years. Also enjoyable is the part when Mulder's informant at Area 51 has no more idea of what's going on inside the airbase than Mulder does.

I still think this two part story probably could have been converted down to one, as it doesn't really go anywhere; more it just plays with the concept of role reversal. In fact, the way everything resets at the end of the episode plays to this. There's no real explanation as to why the switches happened either, except that what did it is top secret. If you're looking for something X-Filesy, you'll be out of luck, but for outright comedy, this works pretty well.
