title>My 2 Cents Worth – Star Trek: Voyager
When an important piece of equipment is lost, the Voyager crew find themselves in a race against time to retrieve it before another race reach it.
The return of the trash-aliens from Night! The first appearance of a new Voyager shuttlecraft! B'Elanna does some orbital skydiving! Does any of this sound fascinating so far? Well, that's because it isn't.
The only point to this episode seems to be to introduce the Delta Flyer, the Voyager's (admittedly pretty cool) new shuttle that can go where no shuttle has gone before. Oh, and to get an orbital skydiving suit on screen, as its only previous appearance was going to be on Kirk in Star Trek: Generations, in a sequence that was eventually cut from the movie.
The race to build a new ship from scratch to beat a bunch of aliens who want to steal Voyager's technology is extremely dull, and the other plot of B'Elanna risking her life pointlessly to make up for not being around to help the Maquis being wiped out back in the Alpha Quadrant is not only a little out of character but also a bit sudden. After all, the crew got messages from home at least six months ago, so why is B'Elanna only now having problems? And how come Tom hasn't noticed anything going on, when Torres has apparently been injuring herself for quite a while by this point?
Don't waste your time with this one.
