Highlander: The Raven: 'The Manipulator'

Nick and Amanda are approached by a reporter called Tim Helfet who insist someone is trying to kill him. When proved right, the pair try to help him bring down the man who killed his father. Until they discover he's not telling them the whole truth...

It's sneering baddie time again in The Raven, and this one wants to keep a war going for his own ends, as he has done in the past by killing a friend of Amanda's, a fact that has haunted her for years. Therefore, when she's asked to settle her score, she is wary but keen, until she finds out that she would be helping a Watcher.

It's a clever twist, but sadly the last this story has to offer, as the rest revolves around theft, hostage taking and a final fierce battle. This is also nicely put together, with Nick and Amanda both carrying out their own separate battles and proving their abilities in combat.

The flashback is one of the better ones as well, and is rather touching. All credit to Elizabeth Gracen and Agathe de la Boulaye for pulling it off in such a short sequence. There's actually plenty to enjoy here, but the sudden slowing of plot after an impressively fast start lets it down a little.
