You said: "My question is, do you complain as much to your city governments about roadside memorials to people who have died?"

Yes, if my town decided to put up a new graveyard or memorial near me I would protest. And yes, I know it's a very NIMBY attitude, but it is the nature of I believe most people. Would you welcome them tearing down YOUR neighbors house to build a graveyard? I think not.

You: "I may be totally out to lunch here, but if you dislike a memorial site, for whatever reason, just don't visit it!"

One of the points is, that I may not have that option of not visiting. If the Realm team decides to start naming shops, etc., after all the people that have passed, they will soon run out of places to name. If they decide not to name anything after anyone else, then I and many others who have lost friends will have every right to protest even louder.

By far the most sane reasoning I've heard so far is to retire the characters name, and leave the house (or something else like a field) in it's place for people to visit. In doing so, all Realmers that have passed and will pass can be given a place to memorialize, and it will be out of the way.
