I can see both points. There are memorials in real life. And not every famous person gets one let alone regular people. And is someone did have a great impact and people want a small memorial, why not? That doesn't seem to hurt anyone. But then agian, WHO gets a memorial is a big question. If person A and person B both spend large amounts of time on the Realm, both give a lot of help, and both are well known, but only person A gets a memorial and person B does not, where is the fairness? Wouldn't it be natural for the people who are friends of person B to feel that person B is being ignored and even treated badly because of this? It think that is the "sticking point" here. Who gets memorials has potential to be a rather violent topic since a memorial is not something created by the players. It is something created by the Realm Team themselves. If I have to pick a side, I think I tend to go with the Realm Team should treat everyone the same. That means I am not for memorials. The second anyone gets anything "special" you get the crys of "unfair". PLEASE don't be insulted by this analogy. As a side note, I HATE when people interchange the word child and immature since not all children are nasty little brats. Doing so insults children. But it has been my observation that you could call the Realm Team our parents and we are all the children. We rely on them to give us information, to program in everything we need to play, etc. All our needs for this game go to them like the needs of a child go to the parent. We can only create so much in the Realm ourselves. We have to work with what they give to us. Say you have five children. If one child gets a treat and the others do not, how will the others react? One might be happy for their sibling. But another might get angry because they didn't get the treat too and they don't see why not. Then you get the "you like so and so better than me for no good reason" fights. I know even if you do your very best to treat everyone the same, some people will think up ways of how things are unfair. But a memorial is a blatant way of saying a certain person is special and deserves a spot on the Realm above and beyond everyone else. If your parents told you your sibling deserved treatment above and beyond what you get, how would you feel? If it has been decided there will be a memorial, I'm not sure how Mr. Nichols can go back on it without infurating those who want it. And I know not everyone views the Realm as I have described. But that is how I see the issue and I thought I'd add my two cents *smile*
