Once a member of the Marauders, Creed became a kill for hire, after faking out the X-Men that he reverted to a mindless animal state caused by Psylocke, and was thus hired by the government and joined X-Factor. The governmen was turning X-Factor into a mutant hunting group and they thought Sabretooth was one of the best choices for the job.

In the Phalanx Covenent, Sabretooth was a powerful ally in saving the other soon-to-be GenX kids. He also has a son, which was conceived with Mystique; Graydon Creed. Best known to be the mutant-hating dictator who would have won the presidency had it not been for his assassination. Although Sabretooth has been a long-standing foe of the X-Men, he has recently proven that he can be somewhat trustworthy. Then again, he's full of surprises.
