As Alallein glowered at her, she moved over to speak with the two Green sisters before they left to fight the remaining Trollocs. Aroura looked grimly at her saddle bags and seemed a little upset, and Elayne was calmly brushing her mare. As she approached them Elayne looked up and smiled, Aroura did as well.
She greeted her two sisters and continued, "Aroura, Elayne, you do not have to go with the soldiers if you do not want to. I understand you guys had as hard a battle as we did at the Waygate..."
Aroura nodded slowly but declined her offer. "Toreene we must clear this area of the Shawdow Spawn before we continue on our journey and it must be done tonight." Toreene had to grin at her friend, spoken like a true Green.
"Well then let me do at least one thing for the two of you then..." Reaching into her waist pouch, she removed the angreal she had used at the Waygate, and placed it in Elayne's hand. "I understand Aroura that Mother lent you one already, but I wasn't sure if Elayne had one to use. Please return it to me when you get back sister...as the Amyrlin will hold me responsible for it."
The young Aes Sedai only grinned slyly. "Of course Toreene."
The Blue sister looked at the two of them and then said calmly, "And there is one more thing I can do for you. Since I am resting for the rest of the evening and you ladies will be riding late and fighting I can give you some extra energy and stamina..I have enough strength left for two small pulses of it." Gently she grasped Aroura's head in her hands, embraced the Source and channeled.
The Green shuddered under her hands, but when Toreene pulled away the woman looked much more alert and ready for battle. "Whew!" She gasped. She was more tired than she had thought she was! Still holding the Power she placed her hands on Elayne's head and channeled a small flow of Healing once again. Elayne looked much better afterwards to, and Toreene said so.
Elayne looked at he cooly and said, "Well you do not sister. Maybe Alallein will have to carry you to your room over his shoulder if you will not go willingly." She threatened with a glint in her eyes.
Toreene's eyes flashed. "I will be fine Elayne. Do well in battle my sisters. May the Light keep you safe." She turned and started walking towards the palace, with Al not too far behind her.
Glancing sideways at the tall man, she saw just how filthy they both were. "We both need a good bath my friend. That 'bloody look' just doesn't become you." She smiled weakly and stumbled a step before he caught her arm. "Thank you." They walked slowly to her quarters and a servant was there already to help her undress and head for the baths.
Al bowed and swept out of the room, heading for his just down the hall, outside of the women's quarters, where no man was allowed to sleep or go with sword. Toreene quickly stripped out of her dress, looking sadly at all the stains that would never come out of it. "Don't worry my lady, I can get those awful stains out for you." The servant bobbed uncertainly and she smiled at the young girl. Again she said "Thank you."
Wearing only a bath robe she walked lightly to the bath room. Both men and women were enjoying themselves in the warm steaming water, bathing themselves and talking. One of the ladies noticed the tall Aes Sedai standing inside the door and smiled. The woman rose from the bath and came to greet her, plainly her nudity didn't bother her or anyone else in the baths it seemed. She was a fairly tall woman at 5'8" and had long brown hair that was pinned abover her haid in a neat bun, and was lithe of body. She curtsied and smiled again. "You must be Toreene Sedai, a pleasure to meet you. My name is Lady Alleena. Please come bath with us."
Toreene nodded tiredly and took off her robe hanging it on a peg by the door. Her nudity didn't bother her either, it seemed she had never had any modesty. When she was younger, she had been mistaken for a boy on many occassions, though that hadn't happened since before she had entered the Tower. Admiring looks came from many of the men in the room and she looked at them each very cooly until they averted their gaze. The lady only laughed lightly.
As she enjoyed her bath, Lady Alleena offered to wash her long blond hair and she leaned back, closing her eyes, savouring the smell of green apple hair soap.
The sudden murmers of the women in the room made her open one eye to see who had entered.....
