Nenia Vayu Aes Sedai, of Arad Doman
Aes Sedai of the Green Ajah

I was born in Bandar Eban, the capital city of Arad Doman, to Larina and Benon Vayu. My mother was a gem merchant, and quite wealthy. As typical of the Domani tradition, she was a very shrewd business woman. My father was a kind, quiet man, very happy in his role as master jeweler for my mother's business.

Early in my life I knew I was different from other girls. I felt the stirrings of the One Power for the first time when I was about seven years old, although I didn't know what it was at the time. I would drive my father to distraction by moving his tools around, just by thinking about it! When I was twelve years old, my parents arranged for my betrothal to the son of gold merchants, a move engineered mostly by my mother. I hotly protested. I did not want my destiny to be the result of a business deal. Deep inside, I felt I had a higher purpose and a desire to provide a greater service to the world. So the next night, after everyone was asleep, I ran away.

Over the next year or so, my life was spent trying to survive in the world. I worked for food and lodging when I could find it, and when I couldn't, I slept in barns and stables. Even thought I didn't know it, the direction in which I was going was leading me to Tar Valon. Eventually I found myself in Whitebridge, not really remembering how I got there. After one harrowing experience, I was so desperate and hungry, I stumbled into an inn. I was dirty and skinny, and in very poor health. A woman there took pity on me, cleaned me up and fed me, and let me sleep in her room. She turned out to be Amine Roahn, an Aes Sedai of the Blue Ajah. She happened to be on her way back to Tar Valon, and after sensing the One Power within me, took me under her wing and invited me to travel back with her to the White Tower. When we finally got there, it felt like coming home.

As you may expect, the following years were filled with rigorous training and classes. My being a wilder made things more difficult, of course, but through difficulty comes character. I did very well, becoming Accepted after only three years as a Novice. It was discovered that I had the unique and nearly forgotten talents of Foretelling, and Travel, as well as being extrememly strong in the One Power. Over the next few years, I became very interested in the Last Battle, and pored over every text I could find within the White Tower's library on the subject. My committment to Tarmon Gaidon was very strong, so it was natural that when the time came, I would choose the Green Ajah.

During my years as an Accepted, I befriended a young Gaidin in Training called Alallein Davishe. I did not waste my time mooning over him the way a lot of Novices and Accepteds did, rather Alallein and I would spend many hours walking and talking, and soon discovered our mutual committments.

The time passed quickly, and I was finally raised to the shawl. I spent some time in service to the Tower, but I knew it was time to go out in the world and prepare for Tarmon Gaidon. It was then that I sought out Alallein, who had by then become Gaidin. I approached him about becoming Warder to me, and he readily agreed, knowing my devotion and seriousness to the task I had undertaken. I bonded him in a very solemn ceremony in the year 998NE, and we have been side by side ever since, dedicating our lives to the Last Battle.
