To Mom
by Jaime Lynn Brigham
Through all these years
We were together
Good times and bad
In all kinds of weather,
Sickness and health,
War and peace,
Loud stormy nights,
Warm, gentle breeze.
You stood by me
No matter what
And comforted me
In a rout.
From badaged knee,
To blackened eye,
To silly boys
That made me cry,
You kept my spirit
From falling down
And lifted me up
Off of the ground.
As I look back
Through all the years
I thank you mom
With loving tears.
