FACT FILE: E-2 Crusader
The Crusader is designed to provide in-flight protection to
friendly aerospace craft, through extensive use of ECM and other countermeasures.
Unarmed, the Crusader needs to fight smart to survive in a hostile environment,
relying on other fighters to protect it from enemy aerospace craft. Another
mission commonly assigned to the E-2 is that of tactical reconnaissance,
using its elaborate sensor suite to record information as the Crusader
overflys the target area.

The Equipment Rating System
The preceeding descriptions of aerospace craft use a rating
system, rather than precise numbers. This is to simplify the factsheets,
and to make it easier to understand how each specific aerospace craft compares
to others. A value of zero (0) means none, while a value of 1 means minimal
and 10 means maximum within a given statistic.
