Two opposing armies throw the lives of their troops away as they try to gain ground.
The rules for Victory Points and Sustained Attack are used by both sides.
1 Each player rolls a D6, the player with the highest score choosing a long table edge for deployment.
2 Both players roll a D6, the player with the lowest score deploying a unit first. Players take it in turn to place units within 12" of their table edge.
3 Players roll a D6 to see who goes first. Note that units moving back onto the board using the Sustained Attack rules (p137) may only move on via the player's table edge.
A player gets Victory Points for units that survive to the end of the game (see page 137 for the defenition of a destroyed unit). At the end of the game, measure the position of each unit from its table edge. Each unit is worth its Victory Point value times the whole number of feet (12") that the unit is from its own table edge.
So, an undamaged unit worth 100 points that is 7" onto the board isn't worth any VPs since it is less than 12" onto the board.
A unit worth 150 points that is 26" away from its own table edge is worth 2x150=300 VPs.
A unit worth 100 points that has lost more than half its models and has at least 1 model 13" away from its own table edge is worth 100/2=50 VPs.
Units out of unit coherency and immobilised vehicles aren't worth any points, and so on.
Reserves are not used.
The game lasts 6 turns.
Troops that are forced to fall back do so towards their own table edge.
Note: Gaining Victory Points For Friendly Troops.
