Y'gadu

Y'gadu always seems to have a long-suffering sigh halfway out of his throat. It's not that he's miserable; it's just that he's seen so much in the Weyr that things don't upset him any more, they just make him brood.

He's a by-the-book rider, which is why he was appointed to the position of Weyrlingmaster, during which time he drilled a lot of excellent riders. Losing weyrlings between or to Thread is what did him in, though, and he was glad to step down in P06. The life of a Wingsecond suits him much better.

He's not without warmth - he has a great deal of affection for the Weyrwoman, who he took through weyrling training, although he's only ever gruff to her. He's very proud of his son Yalas. And he's a good, reliable, considerate Wingsecond. He's just prone to grumpy spells, and fits of 'I told you so' ing. He also gets very involved with his dragon when Jaketh is planning on flying a green. In fact, he can out-proddy a lot of greenriders!
