There are probably thousands of Pern sites on the internet. The trouble is that a lot of them are utter codswallop, with the same copyright-infringing pictures and overly-sentimental twaddle as all the others. On the other hand, some of them are absolutely fantastic and well worth a visit. The problem is telling them apart from the title alone.
The links are divided into:
Grolier
Interactive presents Anne McCaffrey's Pern : The latest news
on the forthcoming Pern computer game. It looks absolutely
fantastic and I can't wait for it to hit the shelves (although it
looks as if I'm going to have to upgrade my computer to do it
justice!).
NB: Grolier are the people to contact if you want
permission to found a new fanfiction Weyr. At the moment, they
are not allowing any more although they say they will
sometime soon. I'll post it here if I hear that changes.
Dragonhold-Underhill : Anne McCaffrey's own website! Well worth a visit if you want to find out a bit more about the lady herself. It also has news about upcoming books, etc.
Anne McCaffrey's Pern : Del Rey, Annie's US publishers, have devoted a lovely chunk of their website to Pern. This was originally established as part of the 'Year of Pern' celebrations last year, marking the 30th anniversary of the first Pern story. However, it must have proved popular because it's still here! It's just a shame her British publishers don't have the same attitude.
alt.fan.pern : The medium-volume Pern newsgroup - usually averages around 15-20 messages a day. Be warned, there are some rather stupid people on afp. However, there are also some really nice, friendly folks.
alt.fan.pern FAQ : Whatever you do, read this before posting to alt.fan.pern.
You Know You've Been Reading Pern Too Long When... : I love this site! The worrying thing is that far too many of the indications hold true...
All the Plants of Pern : A reference guide to just about every plant on Pern.
Non-Pern sites
Ja, DAAS ist gut... : A site about the Doug Anthony Allstars, an utterly wonderful comedy group.

This Pern Masters Webring site is owned by Lena. Do you think your site could make it into the Pern Masters Webring? |

Pernese Online : A quick guide to what seems to be every fanfiction Weyr around!
Lakesedge Weyr : The online Weyr of which I am a member. I can't recommend it strongly enough. Everyone is friendly, they don't have an overly-sentimental attitude to the dragons and the stories are based around everyday life in the Weyr. Fantastic!
I've never taken part in the following Weyrs - I'm just judging by the feel of their websites.
