This is the 2nd time I got on ROCKLINE! I had dialed up
the 800# promptly at 11:28 p.m., timin it perfectly as
I
had done 3 years ago! I got thru, was quizzed and told
exactly how to reword my question, if I was to get on
(?)
I waited 20 mins, not as anxious and nervous as in '96,
but that was my voice crackin when I spoke: I said,
"This
is Rick, er, this question is FOR Rick
Allen!"
"Congratualtions, you have one beautiful daughter
there!"
Rick said, "Thank you, we think so,"
I said, "I agree. How does tourin and bein a new
father
work for you?"
There was an excellent response from Rick, "I was
feelin
quite comfortable at home," and Joe said,
"We had to drag the couch out from underneath him!"
Then Rick said, "It's like meetin your best friend for
the
first time!" and Joe said, "that's deep, Rick!"
hahaha:-)
When the announcer came back, he asked Rick, "Do you
have
any pictures?"
Rick said, "No, they're back at the ranch," and the
announcer said, "thank goodness, we have Photograph..."
then played the next tune!
When the song played, I listened on the phone, like my
connection was still 'live' in the studio, I heard the
announcer say, "well, here we all are in the studio!"
I heard Joe, Rick and Phil speakin in the background
all
at once, like I was there with them! As I went to
record
their conversation in my answering machine memo, the
connection was pulled out:-(
