MOVIES
HALLOWEEN (1978) Director: John Carpenter.
Michael Myers returns to his home town of Haddonfield 15 years
after he killed his sister. Michael has escaped from a mental
home in the hopes of reliving his crime. Suprise hit film
delivers well in the thrill department.
HALLOWEEN 2 (1981) Director: Rick Rosenthal.
Sequel continues on the same night as the first film. Michael is
on the trail of his sister and all those who are trying to
protect her as she goes to hospital.
HALLOWEEN 3: SEASON OF THE WITCH
(1982) Director: Tommy Lee Wallace.
This sequel was a mega flop at the box office because it has no
Michael Myers in it. The fans simply turned away and hated this
sequel. It follows a crazy mask maker who wants to kill all the
children of America.
HALLOWEEN 4: THE RETURN OF MICHAEL MYERS
(1988) Director: Dwight H. Little.
Michael is back, 10 years after the night part one and two took
place on. He discovers he has a niece named Jamie Lloyd and
starts going to find her so he can kill her. This is a good
sequel.
HALLOWEEN 5: THE REVENGE OF MICHAEL
MYERS (1990) Director: Domenique Othenin-Girard.
Set one year after part 4, It sees Michael once again going after
Jamie Lloyd who survived part 4. And Michael also goes after
Jamie's older friends at a Halloween party.
HALLOWEEN 6: THE CURSE OF MICHAEL MYERS
(1995) Director: Joe Chappelle.
The opening scenes of the fifth sequel see Michael chasing after
A grown up Jamie who has just had a baby, but before he kills
her, she has enough time to hide her baby. The baby falls into
the hands of Tommy and he is then chased by Michael. Michael also
goes after some people living in his house.
HALLOWEEN H20 (1998) Director:
Steve Miner
This sequel sees the return of Jamie Lee Curtis, 20 years after
the original. Michael is after her again, but this time it's not
in Haddonfield, it's in California. Michael also goes after
Jamie's son and his friends who have stayed at school while the
rest of the class went on away to have a private Halloween party,
bad move.
FRIDAY THE 13TH (1980) Director:
Sean S. Cunningham.
Many will say that this is one of the best horror movies ever
made. DON'T BELIEVE THEM!!!! This movie is shithouse!!! The
killer is crap, the story is average and the acting is
atrocious!!! It follows the story of a boy who drowned while two
councelors at Camp Crystal Lake, a summer camp were having sex.
The mother of the boy takes revenge.
FRIDAY THE 13TH 2 (1981)
Director: Steve Miner.
A better killer emerges in this sequel, the son of the killer in
part one. Taking revenge on his mother's death by killing anyone
who comes to the camp crystal lake. That means teenagers, her
JASON VOORHEES comes!!
FRIDAY THE 13TH 3 (1982)
Director: Steve Miner.
Jason is back, now he is going after some teenagers that have
come to a holiday house for a bit of holiday fun. Bad move!!
FRIDAY THE 13TH 4: THE FINAL CHAPTER
(1984) Director: Joseph Zito.
Jason goes after some teenagers and a kid named Tommy at Crystal
Lake, after coming back to life at the hospital after part 3.
FRIDAY THE 13TH 5: A NEW BEGINNING
(1985) Director: Danny Steinman.
This is a stupid sequel, the killer isn't even Jason!! It's some
other guy, but I won't bother going on with the storyline.
FRIDAY THE 13TH 6: JASON LIVES
(1986) Director: Tom McLoughin.
Jason is back (hence the title) to kill off more teens at Camp
Crystal Lake after Tommy who was in and survived part 4 and 5
brings Jason back to life.
FRIDAY THE 13TH 7: THE NEW BLOOD
(1988) Director: John Carl Buechler.
At the end of part 6, Jason was chained to the bottom of Crystal
Lake. A girl who has come to crystal lake who has telekenisis
(able to levitate stuff) brings Jason up from his watery grave to
kill off some more teens.
FRIDAY THE 13TH 8: JASON TAKES MANHATTAN
(1989) Director: Rob Hedden.
Possibly the best in the series sees Jason sneak aboard a teenage
cruise ship heading for manhattan. He starts killing teens on the
boat until the survivors get off at manhattan, it is then a chase
through the massive city.
JASON GOES TO HELL, THE FINAL FRIDAY
(1993) Director: Adam Marcus
At the start of this film, Jason is blown to bits by the FBI,
something they should have done many a sequel ago. Jason's spirit
then posesses people as he tries to come back to life. The secret
to Jason's survival is revieled in this sequel.
EVIL DEAD (1983) Director: Sam
Raimi.
Five kids go up to a cabin in the mountains where hey chop
eachother to pieces after demons possess them. Made by precocious
college kids, this is one of the most gruesome horror films ever
made.
EVILD DEAD 2 (1987) Director: Sam
Raimi.
Basically same plot with more people in cabins chopping eachother
to pieces but this part has a comedic side to it, which was nice.
ARMY OF DARKNESS: EVIL DEAD 3
(1993) Director: Sam Raimi.
Star of part one and two now finds himself thrown bakc in time to
medievil time with a chainsaw for a hand. He has to help win a
battle against an army of skeletons.
A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET (1984)
Director: Wes Craven.
The 1984 classic. Several teens find themselves having bad dreams
about the same Freddy Krueger, a scarfaced man who can enter
dreams at will and kill them in macabre ways. It's up to Nancy to
try to stop him. Good idea, but In my opinion not the best film.
A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 2: FREDDY'S
REVENGE (1985) Director: Jack
Shoulder.
A teenage boy finds himself dreaming of Freddy who is
intent on overtaking his mind and body so he can kill all the
neighbourhood teens. Not the best.
A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 3: DREAM
WARRIORS (1987) Director: Chuck Russell.
Teens in a psychiatric hospital begin to be visited by Freddy in
their dreams. Nacny returns as a psychiatrist who helps battle
Freddy.
A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 4: THE DREAM
MASTER (1988) Director: Renny Harlin.
Freddy goes after some more teens on Elm Street, but this time he
may have met his match in Alice, a red hed girl who has to fight
Freddy.
A NIGHTMARE ON ELM STREET 5: THE DREAM
CHILD (1989) Director: Stephen Hopkins.
Stupid, don't waste your time.
FREDDY'S DEAD, THE FINAL NIGHTMARE
(1991) Director: Rachel Talalay.
This time it reveals Freddy's past, but that's the only reason
you would want to watch it, it's shit otherwise.
WES CRAVEN'S NEW NIGHTMARE (1994)
Director: Wes Craven.
Craven returns to direct this feature in which Freddy is
terrorising the actors from A Nightmare On Elm Street, this is a
great film with lots of scares.
SCREAM (1996) Director: Wes
Craven.
Scream has brought back the slasher genre from it's grave where
it was sent to at the beginning of the nineties. Scream is more
of a spoof of a horror movie because it contains references to so
many other horror films and even the rules to survive a horror
film. The story is about Sidney Prescott who is being stalked by
a killer. The police are clueless as to who the killer is and
they must work fast because teen's are dropping dead. A great
film directed by Wes "A Nightmare On Elm Street"
Craven.
SCREAM 2 (1997) Director: Wes
Craven.
Scream 2 set five years after the original sees Sidney at college
doing a film and drama course. Then the murders start up again,
and Sidney, once again is the target. But who are the killer's
this time? Are they college boys or girls? An outsider? Or even
the Police? This film doesn't mention as many horror movies as
part one does so it is getting closer to how a slasher movie
should be.
I KNOW WHAT YOU DID LAST SUMMER
(1997) Director: Jim Gillespie.
Unlike Scream, I Know What You Did Last Summer is closer to the
original horror movie, Scream is more of a spoof. It is full of
suspense and is up there with the best of them. Written by Kevin
Williamson of Scream, he has managed to get away from the Scream
type storyline and write a totally different horror film and he
pulled it off beautifully. I rate this film highly.
THE FOREST (1981) Director:
Unknown.
A movie set in the Forest that has a killer chasing campers. A
good film because of it's setting and people can't hind from the
killer in the forest and the killer actually has a motive! That's
good because In a lot of horror movies I've seen the killer
killed just for pleasure, how lame!
THE FOREST 2 (1985) Director:
Unnown.
A remake of the first basically but this time the killer has no
MOTIVE! We never find out why he kills these campers but he just
does, and some he does in spectacular fashion. The killer is
dressed in camoflauge and he makes grunting noises, STUPID! Don't
waste your time with this piece of crap.
CHRISTINE (1983) Director: John
Carpenter.
John Carpenter's film version of the Stephen King best seller is
a must see movie. Christine is a 1958 plymouth (a car (to explain
it to dufases out there)) who is posessed by demons. People have
died in her, making her have a bad ass attitude. When Christine
is bought by a boy who falls in love with it, all hell breaks
loose.
THE PEOPLE UNDER THE STAIRS
(1991) Director: Wes Craven.
Not the best Craven movie, but not the worst. It is about this
really weird house that has people trapped in the basement under
the stairs (hence the name) and people who walk through the
walls. The adults who own this joint are f*****g crazy. Average
film.
SHOCKER (1989) Director: Wes
Craven.
Another Craven film is quite good. It is about a murderer named
Horace Pinker who was executed and then came back by forms of
electricty to the televisions, radios and computers of the
policeman who put him on death row's
family.
TRUCKS (1998) Director: Unknown.
Based on a short story by Stephen King, Trucks is rather like
Christine, but with 4 trucks instead! These trucks take hostage a
group of people in a little (and I mean very little) place near
Area 51 called Luner. The Trucks have a mind of their own and
won't let anybody out of the bar they are in, otherwise they get
run over. Watch out for the scene with the postman and the romote
control truck.
PROM NIGHT (1980) Director: Paul
Lynch.
A killer is after four teenagers that when they were young
witnessed the murder of a little girl and never told about it,
becuase in a way, they assisted in killing her. A killer is
making calls (like in Scream) and he is running around with an
axe at the perfect massacre venue, the Senior PROM.
THE FOG (1980) Director: John
Carpenter.
Another John Carpenter masterpiece of horror! Starring Jamie Lee
Curtis it is the story of a ship hat crashed just off the shore
of a small town and a hundred years later, a sweeping fog comes
through the city, as the fog gets near your house you will hear
knocks, but don't make the mistake of opening your door because
their are dead fisherman with hooks waiting to slice and dice!
HOUSE (1986) Director: Steve
Miner.
A Steve Miner film, one of his earlier ones has William Katt in a
house his grandmother comitted suicide in. In the house there are
monsters, and every bad thing you can think of. You won't notice
it but The seargant at the end of the film was stunt doubled by
Kane "Jason Voorhees" Hodder.
SILENT NIGHT, DEADLY NIGHT (1984)
Director: Charles E. Sellier.
One of THE BEST slasher movies ever made. This great movie tells
the story of a boy who watched his parents getting murdered by a
villain in a Santa Claus suit at Christmastime. When the boy is
18 - after being at an orphanage and being ordered around by the
mothersuperior bitch nun - he is asked to play santa at the
toyshop he works at, when he puts on the suit, he snaps and goes
killing people, he then goes afetr the mothersuperior.
SILENT NIGHT DEADLY NIGHT 2
(1987) Director: Lee Harry.
The whole movie takes place in an interview room with a doctor
interviewing Ricky, the brother of the killer in part one. He
talks about what his brother did (it recaps 40 minutes from part
1) and what he has done. He then escapes to go after the
Mothersuperior again.
SILENT NIGHT DEADLY NIGHT 3: BETTER
WATCH OUT! (1989) Director: Monte Hellman.
Badly made sequel puts now grown killer from part 2 against a
blind woman linked to him by ESP. Attempt at a good horror film
falls flat and it is really shit.
SILENT NIGHT DEADLY NIGHT 4: INITIATION
(1990) Director: Brian Yuzna.
Investigating a strange death, a young woman becomes involved
with witches and large bugs. Though intelligent, it's
gratituously gruesome, dull, poorly acted and bizarrely
anti-feminist. Christmas elements are superflous.
SILENT NIGHT, DEADLY NIGHT 5: THE
TOYMAKER (1991) Director: Martin Kitroser.
Toys are out to kill a young boy at Christmastime. But who is
responsible? Drunken toymaker Petto or his odd son Pino? (the
names are clumsy clues) Over plotted but OK horror thriller.
SLEEP STALKER (1995) Director: Turi Meyer
Story of young boy who has his family murdered by a man who
thinks he's the Sandman. 17 years later the man is on deathrow
and the young boy has got on with his life. Just before he is
executed the man is visited by a preacher who gives him the
ability to come back from the dead! as the real Sandman. After he
is executed he returns with the help of some cheezy FX and some
bodgy latex. He then goes on his mission of killing the boy who
he couldn't kill at the start of the film. This film is okay and
contains a non-horror movie surprise at the end regarding the
movies hero. Oh and yeah it is left open for a sequel!.
THE HOWLING (1980)
Director: Joe Dante
The Howling tells the story of a newscaster who only just
survives a sexual assault. Shaken, she is sent to The Colony to
recover. However strange things happen at the Colony, the least
of which is that all the inhabitants are Werewolves!. Cheezy but
fun horror film is best of the series.
THE HOWLING 2: YOUR SISTER IS A WEREWOLF
(1985) Director: Philippe Mora
THE HOWLING 3: THE MARSUPIALS (1987) Director: Philippe Mora
Suposed Spoof of horror movies fails dismally at this task. It
tells of a pregnant bush girl who escapes from her tribe in the
bush who are all Werewolves. It turns out that the girl is part
marsupial and she falls pregnant to a member of a film crew who
hired her to be a victim in one of their movies. This movie
sucks!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!, it contains bodgy special
FX (The thing that bursts out of her stomach is particularly bad)
and stupid Werewolf costumes.
THE HOWLING 4: THE ORIGINAL NIGHTMARE (1988) Director: John Hough
Well first off let me say I didn't finish this movie as I got
bored and turned it off. From what I gathered before ZI switched
the soccer on it was about an author who moves to the hills to
recover from a nervous brakedown, whilst in the hills bizarre
stuff starts to happen. Let me say it seems that this movie seems
to be a remake of the first.
THE HOWLING 5: THE REBIRTH (1989) Director: Neal Sundstrom
THE HOWLING 6: THE FREAKS (1991) Director: Hope Perello
LEPRECHAUN (1992)
Director: Mark Jones
First in the leprechaun series is a disapointment. This horror
series would have to be my favourite of all time. The first
installment is the story of a father and daughter who move into
an old house. Unbeknownst to them in the basement a Leprechaun
has been lying idle for 10 years. He is accidently reawaken and
when his gold is stolen by the painters he goes on a killing
rampage. Fun movie, stars Jennifer Aniston pre-friends.
LEPRECHAUN 2 (1994) Director: Rodman Flender
This movie is great. The make up on Warwick Davis is far better
and this episode has our little green friend in the city. The
Leprechaun has waited 1000 years for his bride and when he
finally comes to claim her he meets resistance from her boyfriend
(naturally!). Not put off the Leprechaun goes about killing
people so he can claim his bride.
LEPRECHAUN 3 (1995) Director: Unknown
This series seems to get better with each sequel. Part three is
by far the best of the four. Our little green friend has come to
Las Vegas. A man takes one of the Leprechauns gold coins and
discovers that it helps him on the tables in the Casino. Anoid
the Leprechaun goes about killing people to get his coin back.
Watch out for Elvis scene.
LEPRECHAUN 4 (1996) Director: Unknown
This episode has a group of Space Marines traveling to a distant
planet to save an Alien Princes from a Leprechaun who wants to
make her his bride. When returning home they don't realise that
they have a certain un-wanted stow-away.
CHILDS PLAY:
This movie is about a boy named Andy
who get's a doll for a birthday present that happens to be
posessed by dead killer Charles Lee Ray's soul. I love it!
(Review - Mr Voorhees)
CHILDS PLAY 2:
Chucky returns to get the now
orphaned Andy once again in this entertaining sequel. (Review -
Mr Voorhees)
CHILDS PLAY 3:
Andy managed to escape Chucky's
wrath in part 2, so once again here he is.....except this time
he's half ass old and is sent to Kent Military Academy. Enter
Tyler the new kid who Chucky must posess to get a new body. Once
again a movie I really enjoyed. (Review - Mr Voorhees)
BRIDE OF CHUCKY:
This honestly has to be the funniest
movie I have ever seen. I loved it. Chucky is once again brought
back but this time he brings his girlfriend from 10 years ago
into the picture. She's a hottie yes, but she's damn annoying. I
really enjoyed Chucky's cute sayings, but I was dissapointed that
Andy wasn't in it. Great movie here. (Review - Mr Voorhees)
BLOODSUCKING FREAKS:
This is one of the sickest movies
I've seen. It's pretty much a movie just of torture, blood, and
nudity. There's lots of sick scenes of people getting shit cut
off, but Ralphus the midget guy just makes this movie too cute.
(Review - Mr Voorhees)
ZOMBIE:
I really like this movie. It
involves some lady who wants to find her lost father whos boat
comes sailing in with some fat ass zombie on it. They go to the
island and lots of people die gruesome deaths. Very explicit and
gory. I love it (Review - Mr Voorhees)
DEAD ALIVE:
This is probably one of my top two
zombie related movies. This is very funny and bloody. Lionel's
mother gets bit by a sumeritan (who knows?) monkey rat and
spreads the deadly diseases in this fun filled gorefest. Be sure
to get the unrated version. (Review - Mr Voorhees)
DRILLER KILLER:
Never ever watch this movie. Sure I
thought it would be cool...a guy fucking people up with a big
drill. Sure every once in a while, but everything else in this
stupid movie sucks my ass. (Review - Mr Voorhees)
REDNECK ZOMBIES:
This Troma film is filled with blood
and humor. It's worth the watch for some good laughs, and some
cool disgusting stuff. The quality isn't all too great, but it's
Troma so it has to be cool. (Review - Mr Voorhees)
THE DORM THAT DRIPPED BLOOD:
This is a very good 80's horror
movie. Everyone in the college leaves for vacation while a few
stay around to fix things up for a while. Some killings start
happening and everyone looks at the old scary guy who walks
around of course, but once again, it wasn't him. This movie has a
really good ending. this is a must see. (Review - Mr Voorhees)
THE LAST HORROR FILM:
I really wasn't too fond of this movie,
because it was very boring, and not too bloody. I think Scream
and it's sequel payed a little tribute to this movie even if they
didn't know about it. (Review - Mr Voorhees)
