FAIRNESS IS:being free from self-interest, prejudice, or favoritism A lot of unfair things happen to us during our lives, especially in high school where prejudice and criticizing runs rapant through the minds of adolescents. An old Canadian drama aimed at teenagers entitled Degrassi High dealt with the problems most teens faced at school with peers and at home with family. One of those issues were fairness. One of the girls in the show (her name I cannot recall) was stricken to a wheelchair. She was not able to participate in activities as freely as her peers, she lost friends, grades slipped and was regarded as a freak to other peers in the school. Luckily due to the strength of a few friends that stood by her she was able to start over fresh and keep on trucking through life. People, except her friends and family, still were unfair to her, yet due to her positive aura and mental state she was able to ignore it and live life to its fullest.
