How could he sit over there as cool and unreadable as always?  Didn't he ever think of
that night they'd spent together?  Didn't it effect him in any way?

She had sent Skinner to the hotel bathroom vending machines for protection. Most women
would have been annoyed when a man came back packing four condoms, but not her.  He'd
explain in the most logical manner that he wasn't being arrogant, merely optimistic.  The
evening had come to halt until Scully had been able to get her giggles under control.

Come morning, the bedside table had been littered with four broken foil packages, and the
wastebasket had contained the evidence of their lovemaking. Optimistic indeed!

Did he ever think about that night?  Did he ever want to do it all over again?

Watching the stoic expression of Skinner's face as he reamed her and Mulder out for their
latest, Scully sort of thought not.
