A LITTLE BIT OF HISTORY ALONG THASSA!

As mentioned earlier, Tarl Cabot was traveling from the north, along the Thassa. He had business with Samos...first slaver of Port Kar, and agent to the Priest-Kings. It was for the latter that Tarl Cabot sought Samos. Cabot had entered the Sardar and was one of the few who had come to understand the Priest-Kings' true nature. He befriended and earned the respect of the Priest-King, Misk. And was said to be embraced by the golden antennae of Misk, as a gesture of the "Nest Trust" between them. Cabot had been instrumental in the Nest War. Tarl Cabot had gone to the Plains of Turia, obtaining the last egg of the Priest-Kings from the Wagon People and returned it safely, back to the Sardar. Being sent to Samos by the Priest-Kings, he started out to do just that. He ventured into The Delta of the Vosk and battle ensued. He lost his honor in order to preserve his life. He chose slavery over the freedom of his honorable death and was captured and made slave to Telima...a Free Woman of the Rence People who live in the Delta of the Vosk.

When Tarl Cabot was captured and taken slave by Telima, she contemptuously named him bosk, after the shambling ox-like creature that roams the plains of Gor...but eventually, bosk forced Telima to grant him his freedom and he took her as his slave. Bosk brought her to Port Kar and established himself as Bosk, Merchant of Port Kar. He regained his honour when he engaged in battle between the fleets of Port Kar and Cos and Tyros. In fair combat, he slew Surbus, a Pirate...Captain of the fleets of Sarus of Tyros. The Men of Port Kar live by the honor of the sword and violence. To die by the sword is regarded as the right and honorable way. By the laws of Port Kar, if one prevails in fair combat, all the riches and the property of the one killed goes to the victor in his honor. He earned the riches of Surbus and his slave, Luma. He removed the collar from Luma on the 25th Se'Kara, and she became chief Scribe of his house. It has been said that while Luma was a scrawny girl and not very pretty, her accounting abilities and the good sense and wisdom she posessed, helped Bosk greatly in carrying out his business in his home. Tarl Cabot embarked on many an adventure while in Port Kar. He earned the title of Admiral of Port Kar and stood high on the Council of Captains.

Tarl, or Bosk, had also learned that his first love, Talena, once daughter of Marlenus of Ar, was in Port Kar. Talena was now a slave and she was purchased by Samos from two panther girls. Tarl Cabot had grown to love Telima. He freed her once at Port Kar, but after hearing of Talena and her whereabouts, he left Telima, setting out to right the demise of his first love. Telima, a scorned Gorean female, retreated back to her people in the Delta of the Vosk. While, Tarl Cabot had gone to Samos, purchased Talena for 15 pieces of gold...five more than Samos had paid for her and then paid her passage home to her father.

We could go on endlessly, telling you about all the history and points of interest revolving around and happening on the Shores of Thassa and in the surrounding areas of Gor...but, if you read the books, you are sure to find it all there, too...and much more!
