Human Races


There are three distinct human races in Isian: Humans, Shev, and Half-breeds.

 

Humans: The youngest of the Elder races, and one of the few able to survive without magic, humans compromise the majority of the world's population. They can range from any height, any weight, any color and any status (though they tend to come in only male and female variations). A few are even capable of using magic, but, as magic dies in the land, less and less mages are being born.

Humans follow standard Character Creation rules.

 

Shev: A harsh race that live in a harsher environment, Shev populate the islands northwest of Isian (known collectively as the Shevon Islands). The men are all tall, broadshouldered, with pale hair and eyes. The women are slimmer (though still tall), also with pale hair and eyes. The Shev are exceptionally good fighters, especially when it comes to swords, and are excellent sailors. They wear very little armor, counting instead on sheer strength and speed to slaughter their enemies before they themselves are killed. (Think The Thirteenth Warrior meets Braveheart meets Erik the Viking) People on Isian think of them as an inferior, barbaric race.

To be a Shev: ST 12+, DX 12+, IQ 8+, HT 12+, Combat Reflexes (+15) , Hard to Kill (4 levels/max), Code of Honor (-5), Illiteracy (-5), Primitive (-5), Social Stigma (-15)

 

Half-Breeds: Although the Elders are gone, their descendants live on. Long ago various Elder races interbred with humans, producing these Half-breeds (even though they are no longer technically "half"). Half-breeds are very rare (1% of the population). Usually, the Elder blood is so faint that the person never notices they have it, but, occasionally, some things happen.

To be a Half-elf: ST 12 or lower, DX 11+, Absolute Direction (+5), Acute Vision(2/level), Night Vision (10), Plant Empathy (+5), Animal Empathy (5+), Claustrophobia (-15), Horrible Hangovers (-1)

To be a half-dwarf: ST 13+, HT 12+, Alcohol Tolerance (+5), Manual Dexterity (3/level), Inherent Magic (Seek Earth)(+2), Acute Hearing (2/level), Ambidexterity (+10), Bad Sight (-10), Bad Temper (-10), Greed (-15)

To be a Half-dragon: Alertness (5/level), Awareness (+35), Eidetic Memory (+30), Inherent Magic (Control All Elementals) (+80), Overconfidence (-10), Stubborn (-5), Unnatural Feature (Dragon Eyes) (-5)
