Tales of Lassane
Drugs

There are several varieties of drugs in Lassane:

For game purposes, Adana's Tear is a stimulating drug, but becomes hallucinogenic in larger quantities (B30): it will effect the user for about two hours (four hours for characters with ST below 10, one hour for those with ST over 15). The user will think he is smarter, stronger and faster, but in fact is temporarily at IQ-1. However, he does get a +1 bonus to Speed. If more than five doses are taken in a short amount of time, the person also suffers from hallucinations and becomes completely useless for work or combat, though he still may be active and talkative.

Adana's Tear is cheap (each dose costs less than $20), highly addictive, hallucinogenic in larger quantities, and legal. An addiction to it is worth -15 points.

Krauna (the drink) is cheap, mildly addictive, and legal. An addiction to it is more of a quirk than anything else, unless you're in an area that doesn't carry it for some reason. (-1/-5)

Murkweed is not an addictive drug, instead it's commonly used in medicine as an analgesic and sleeping aid. When mixed with other drugs and applied as a salve, the affected skin becomes completely numb. The fumes from the pulp are also euphoric in nature, and can help a person sleep better. For that reason, the pulp is sometimes added to candles.

In game terms, when a single dose is applied (a single dose being enough to cover the affected area with a thin layer), will negate up to -2 in pain modifiers for about two hours. If any extra doses are taken within two hours of the first, a HT roll must be made. Each dose over two will impose a cumulative -1 penalty to HT rolls. A failed roll means the subject falls completely unconscious for six hours or more. This also applies to breathing in the fumes, only the penalties begin at the first "dose" (when you first breathe them in).

Lethe is expensive (each dose costing between $21-$100), incapacitating, totally addictive, and illegal. An addict also suffers from mild to moderate memory loss, depending on how long they have been addicted. An addiction to lethe is worth -35 points.
